How to get approved on Ebay, If got Rejected earlier.

Hi guys,

I need a little bit of help here. I misplaced a report I once found "How to join the ebay affiliate program" just like amazon and Clickbank. I know lot of people are promoting the products from ebay but the plugin I use on my blogs offer the opportunity to promote ebay products on automation. I would really want to use this plugin to it's max. And, I would really appreciate if anyone could help me with the way to get approved on ebay. As I tried once but got rejected as majority of us.

Any tips, Any suggestions ?
Thanks in advance.

If anyone knows the secret to being accepted in their affiliate program, I'd love to know it too. I'm an eBay PowerSeller and make eBay quite a bit of money every year, but yet they won't accept me as an affiliate . . . which just doesn't make sense to me. T_T I've tried twice and got rejected both times.

As far as I've heard, it's random how they accept some people and reject others.

The Minisite Formula by Joel Peterson has some good tips for getting accepted by Ebay and a lot of other good tips as well.

Basically, some of the things that are important are a good website with NO ads on them. Ebay wants to be the only ads showing so don't put any Adsense or Amazon ads on the site before you submit. If you've already been turned down, use a different email, and info for registering again.

Who knows what criteria they use. I sold a startup site to a girl who didn't even know how to blog and she was accepted with that site. I was turned down once and haven't ever reapplied.

As has already been mentioned your application site needs to free of a ton of affiliate links and ad banners.

Write a business description that shows you're a professional and you know what to do in setting up, marketing, and driving quality traffic to your sites.

Use your real name. Use a real email address (not gmail, yahoo, hot mail, etc.). Use a real telephone number.

If rejected, you need to find one of the ePN affiliate managers. Head over to the eBay forums. Also send them an email. You'll need to dig for it but you can find it and telling them you're application has been rejected and ask for a manual review of your site and application.

Don't be rude or silly... when communicating with them just tell them your business model. Be specific. Stuff like, "Niche marketing via Wordpress micro-sites & generating leads and sales from traffic (paid and natural
    search)."

I know several people who have followed that and their rejection was reversed.

This works for almost any affiliate program that auto-rejects. I was rejected by an affiliate program via CJ. I googled the company name + affiliate manager. Finally found an email for her. I sent it to her. I included my telephone number. She actually called me and we chatted for like 20 minutes she was amazed I tracked her down. She said they auto-reject everyone on CJ. They don't even review it. Sounds dumb to me but I guess they're just really picky. She reversed the rejection and accepted me into the program.

A lot of affiliates take it personally. Oh they rejected me. Screw them. I don't need them. How dare they and never follow up. It's not personal... and it's probably very impersonal since it's setup to auto-reject.

Alan's tip on the affiliate manager sounds like gold. I'm going to reapply after being rejected several months ago. If rejected again, I'm finding the manager

Lying about being a media buyer and how much traffic you'll send it not the way to go man.

It's probably that type of shenanigans that the big affiliate networks like ePN auto-reject everyone.

EDIT - The original message I was replying to was zapped by the mods (good) so now my reply looks weird.

Not once did i mention lying... his mrs, his brothers (if any) etc could be business "associates".
and anyone can be a media buyer and purchase traffic from facebook google etc, etc...

    and get 10K-50K hits easily.
What Im saying is, it doesnt have to be previously, anyone could get that tomorrow.

      Thanks guys,

Much appreciated your feedback, I think I should wait for a while for EPN and go and grab myself some keyword rich domains, do some homework and then try again in 4-5 months time.

@Alan I'll try to keep them free of affiliates until accepted by EPN and surely I'd love to track the EPN affiliate manager.LOL

      Thanks again.

I just got an email from eBay, saying that my application was rejected (no reason). With that said, I will implement all the tips in this thread, and then re-submit my application.

Becoming an Ebay affiliate is one the the harder affiliations to get. And being rejected makes it even harder to get accepted. The key to being accepted is having a website, preferably over 2 years old, with no outside advertising. Then carefully follow the procedures that Ebay lays out. If you are rejected you will need to get to a human.
