Some news to share from Google world...

Official Google Webmaster Central Blog: First Click Free for Web Search

What is says? If I understood right, mixed up with an apparently interesting service comes this: pages that the google robot see and are indexed, have to be accessible to the visitor that comes from a search in google too...

so... those indexing the private part of membership sites to gain authority will have an interesting time ahead...

Ok... time to get creative now... and see how to jump this wave...

I wonder if they'll apply this rule to all the major newspapers and other media that use this trick. Why is my guess that they won't?

  My take was that you had to create a duplicate page on the public side then tell Google that it is a FCF page and they would handle it from there.

  I bet the experts-exchange.com will get hit with this too. They turn up for all kinds of searches but you have to pay to read the replies.

Who knows, this might turn out to be a good thing for you(or me). And Chris - Probably because google are the kind of people willing to store your search results to sell them later on.
