Easy way to make money with ClickBank with 0 investment!

Hi Friends,

I would like to share a step-by-step short guide through this thread on making money with Clickbank using article marketing. This is newbie friendly as it requires NO INVESTMENT and is commonly used by experienced marketers, already.

This is what got me into IM and now, I would like to share how it works.

By applying yourself and spending few hours a day , every day, you can make a sustainable income online through affiliate marketing.

* Again, I am sure all of you already follow these steps and are aware of these simple, yet effective technique. This is for absolute newbies into IM.

1). Log on to Digital Products Retailer: Affiliate Program & Sell Online - ClickBank and register as an affiliate
2). Log on to EzineArticles Submission - Submit Your Best Quality Original Articles For Massive Exposure, Ezine Publishers Get 25 Free Article Reprints and register on their site
3). Now, all you need to do is check the Clickbank marketplace for 3 products that interest you. Choose 1 product with high gravity, choose 2 products with medium gravity but ones you personally think you can promote well/ write on.
4). Now write 10 articles of 300 words each on all of these 3 products.
5). Log on to blogger.com and create 1 sales short / simple sales page / blog for each of these 3 products. The page should have your affiliate id throughout.
6). Submit the 30 articles to ezinearticles.com (You will be allowed 10 at first, once they are approved, you get additional 25 submissions and then unlimited).
7). Make unique resource boxes with call to action phrases with your blog url for each of the 30 articles. Link each article to relevant blog.
8). Wait for ezines approval and see money rolling in your clickbank account
9). Rinse and repeat.
10). Increase the daily article submissions to see more and more sales.

This works extremely well for newbies who have AMPLE time on their hands and are yearning to have a steady cash flow online.

Good Luck !
Jo

Yes squidoo lens and hubpages are great too for marketing clickbank / other affiliate products.

Needless to say, this method can be replicated for any affiliate product / site promotion

    Hi Great question.
This is a 'trick' which has worked for me in the past, hence I advice all to follow.
Of course some people prefer to choose products with low gravity (for less competition) and others choose high gravtiy products only (as those are best sellers). So, basically one can tweak after they see results.
Like if your 1 product is doing better than the other 2, then you can tweak one of the remaining 2 and check results after 1 week and change/keep the other product accordingly.
There is nothing called as 'Sure shot success formula', But keep tweaking and modifying methods in order to maximize sales and profits.

      Hi John,

      Another very relevant question.
Choosing the product is something you should never outsource. Read forums, do your own research and go by 'your instinct' while doing so.

Other things like creating the sales page and submitting articles can easily be outsourced but they hardly take up much time.
The most time consuming task is of course 'Writing Articles'. The first thing, I outsourced when I started making decent money was writing articles. Then, I outsourced submission of articles, when I made even more money.

Sales page creation and choosing the product, are 2 aspects I still do myself.
I don't really get time for market research and all these days so I prefer to stay away from affiliate marketing, but as a newbie, I was thrilled to discover this cash cow with no investment and I have to say - It was a stepping stone in the right direction.

Hope you do well with this method too.

Feel free to ask any more questions you may have.

Do you mind if I ask another question? Once you got your income to a certain point, what is the first thing you outsourced?

There is only so long a person can do this kind of thing without reaching a "ceiling" on their income, right? So, whats the first goal once you start hitting, say $50-100 per day, in your view?

I highly recommend increasing the article to 400 words or more.

This will make it easier to achieve Platinum status (IMHO) and, more importantly, allows you to increase anchor text length from 3 to 5 words.

      Excellent tip, PCRoger.

This can SURELY help a lot as ezines allows resource box to be 15% of article word count.. so increase in no of words , would help in having a better resource box too

Hi - Glad you liked my post.
Ezinearticles would take 5-10 days to approve your first lot of 10 (Basic membership status), 4-5 days for your next 25 articles (Basic Plus status).
Once you reach Platinum membership, you get unlimited submissions and articles are generally reviewed within 48 hours.

I agree, this plan works, but takes time.

I used a similar plan when I started out in affiliate marketing. The only differences were I bought my own domain name and hosting account and I was only monetizing my content with Adsense.

I'm still making money with these sites.

    Thanks for this post.

Adsense and domain sites are excellent for CB, but they need some investment. Great for experienced IM'ers but article marketing is best for newbies who want to get into IM with no experience and no money.

Good to hear these sites work well for you.

Hi - Top 3 article directories, as per my experience are - Ezinearticles / articlesbase / goarticles - Apart from these, others would just help in getting you links or 1 odd sale here/there.
I would rather spend my time writing and submitting 10 unique articles a day to Ezines, than writing 1 and submitting to 50 directories.
Thats just what I would do, but you can check both methods and analyze what works best for you !

Don't think about it as writing an article - think of it as telling one of your friends about it - you could even record what you want to say and then transcribe it. Then the article comes across fluently and doesn't sound 'manufactured'.. if you know what I mean. Above all, choose a niche which it is relatively easy to talk about - I started out with hemorrhoids and I ran out of new angles VERY QUICKLY!! (Also, it's not really the sort of thing I chat to my friends about!)

My question is: Is it a good idea to link to a blogger.com page from the Ezine article rather than to your own domain? Are EZA OK with this too?

I know some people have had trouble with putting affiliate links on free blogger.com blogs. Have you had any problems with it?

EZA is ok with a blogspot blog. I have myself made well over $1000 over few weeks using blogger landing pages. I used this method when I was just starting out and frankly had no money to invest even in hosting / domains.
If you have the dough, a self hosted domain is a much better option.

    Hi John,

Excellent questions. Let me answer them one by one -

1). Yes, there are several factors I keep in mind while selecting a product. Gravity is the first but rest are just as important.

    2) Amount per sale is critical but from experience I have seen that it does not really matter. Some times I get same amount of conversion with a $9 comm, as I have with a $90 comm product. It all depends on your marketing skills and demand in the market for the product at that moment. Like if it is the holiday season then products like Christmas lighting business or Making money work very well as people are looking to earn good money over the holidays.

    3) Sales page of the product you promote is also integral part of the decision making process. I think I avoid is the opt-in list on the page.

    4) Yes those are fake claims and we must stay away from such sites, though to be honest - these claims 'do work'.

    5) Working with a reputed product / vendor would help avoid such leaks. Read forums and do your own research before choosing the products.

    6) Vendors DO offer free review copies in most cases and it's best to get one for yourself. Once you 'know' the product inside out, it is easy to promote it.

Thanks for your questions and I hope I answered them to your satisfaction .

    Cheers,
    Jo

Do you also suggest writing to the vendor in an attempt to get a copy of the product to review? And, if if the vendor says no, do you suggest purchasing the product to actually review it yourself?

A high gravity doesn't necessarily mean it's a good product to promote. My best converting product has a gravity of less than 4 - it's been totally overlooked so I am well on my way to owning the niche!

Clickbank stuff sells very well from web 2.0 article sites, but if you just sign up then only write Clickbank pages then your account will sink with the loss of all hands!

Hi - You are right. If someone can find such a product, it is GOLD.

The challenge here, is to 'discover' such a product !

        Hi Jo
        Excellent step by step guide.

As I understand these steps 4,5 and 7
        1. I am writing 10 articles for each product and
        2. Write Blog/sales page/sales short for each of the product. this page will have my affiliate Id all over.
        3. Use article resource box to link to my URL (blog, sales page etc)

        My question is...
why do you suggest to write a blog and call to action phrases with my blog url? Can not I use link to my affiliate product url directly from the resource box? for example www dot the_actual_product_page dot com/?hop=myaffiliateid

Just curious if there was any additional advantage/benefit/trick in creating separate blog/sales page with my affiliate id embedded in the page.

Hi - Thanks for pointing that out. I never checked the links as I never really promoted this product at all. I just did the research, created the sales page - Got busy and forgot about it. But, I will fix it coz I might get some organic traffic anyways..you never know

          1) You start by writing content yourself. DO NOT outsource till you MAKE money first.
          2) Use long tail keywords for better ranking.

If your articles are good and keyword optimized, you dont have to get traffic to them - EZA does that for you.

          Regards,
          AD
Hi AD - Great question. NO, you cannot use your aff url as EZA does not allow that. They will reject your article instantly.

Very good post. Whether any newbies would want to do it is another matter, it involves work.
It is a tried and tested method, i get over 25% of my traffic from Ezine, so it works, just takes time and effort.

Icanwrite I owe you a BIG thank you.

I know it was pure luck and completely out of the norm...but I got my first sale on Clickbank using YOUR method.
          Thank you..Thank you...Thank you..

I have seen the different posts about how this will not work or how newbies shouldn't do this..I say bump that. This makes money. Is it the only way? Heck no, but it is a great way to get the feet wet and see something in the Clickbank account other than a group of zero's.

        Hi,

Thanks for sharing this method. Article marketing really works especially for building a subscribers list. I never thought of promoting a product from my articles, what I usually do is to link my articles to my squeeze pages and build my list, from that point, once they became my subscribers, that's where I promote my product/someone else's products. Keep in mind, build good relationship first and provide valuable contents before promoting a product.

I have a question though, when you write 30 articles about the product that you're promoting, and once you achieved your desired income per day, how long will it last? For example, you are already earning $50 per day, how steady is it and how long will it last? Do you expect to get that kind of income, say, 6 months after that?

You mention using blogger.com as a free landing page. If you did not want to use blogger.com as the landing page (I know they can sometimes be bit fussy), do you know of any other free blogs/sites which can be used for a landing page instead?

Has anyone else used any other free blogs/sites as landing pages which they would recommend?
Yes I have used Hubpages / Squidoo lens.

Hi - Great question indeed. The income for articles is long term but goes down as the number of articles you submit go down. If you consistently submit 10-20 articles each day, you can expect a steady flow of income, else not.

I've stayed out of this thread until now but I feel there is something that
        needs to be said.

As the OP herself has admitted, this is basic stuff.

Because it is basic stuff, mostly every affiliate marketer is doing it at
        minimum.

Therefore, you really don't have an advantage over anybody else. And trust
me, this can get frustrating when you don't see the sales come in the way
        you'd expect.

So, to get an advantage over OTHER affiliates, you may want to add the
following things. Yes, this WILL take work.

        1. Create a free report related to niche you're targeting or look for a PLR
        report at least.

        2. Get an autoresponder account.

        3. Setup a followup series of at least 7 emails providing additional info
        that's NOT in the report.

        4. On your blog, have a review of the product. Yes, you will have to go
        out and get the product.

        5. In the resource box of your article, send people to the review.

        6. On the blog, under the review have both the option to get the free
report AND the sales page link. Some people will get the report, some will
go straight to the sales page. But this way, you have more of a chance of
        holding onto a prospect.

This is the kind of stuff that separates the successful affiliate marketers
from the so-so and unsuccessful affiliate marketers because it takes more
        effort.

Those of you willing to go the extra mile on this WILL see better results
than those who just follow the OPs plan to the letter.

          Hi Steve,

Thanks for this VERY helpful post.
You are 100% right - Anyone who follows this word to word, might get a few random sales (which is good for a newbie to start with) , but those who will be creative and add their own ideas would be the ones who will make it BIG.

So, go the extra mile and you will see that the additional effort you put in will surely pay off !

Wow, something so simple that I've never really done! I TOTALLY agree that this is a good way to approach it. You might lose the customer to your list if they buy now, but you'll make the sale. You win either way.

Right, but setting up a list is intimidating to newbies that have soooo much ahead of them.

And if you try to "do it right" and use Aweber, that's quite costly.

I am thrilled to see such a tremendous response to my thread. Thanks for all PM's asking for further help.
Though, I would really prefer if everyone can post their questions here on the thread itself so as to avoid duplicate questions , which I get via PM's at times
Hope you all make some real money with this method soon !
All the best and feel free to shoot across any questions you may have.

Good info for the newbie. Thanks for taking the time to post. Obviously, there are tweaks and improvements that can and should be made as newbies become more experienced.

This, however, is a good primer. It is straightforward and step-by-step. Too often newbies are overwhelmed by too much information or information that is too complicated. The main thing is to TAKE ACTION with a basic plan that works. Then grow in sophistication and complexity.

    Thanks for plain and simple.

If a newbie takes your "method" and implements it, i am sure that he will be disappointed. There are so many factors involved. On paper it looks great but on the real world it doesn't work exactly.

I do not recommend any newbie to get started without keyword research.

Firstly thanks Icanwrite for this article as it simplifies the process of article marketing tremendously. I have some questions though.

    a) Does blogger let you essentially use you free blog to host affiliate links?

    b) With article marketing in general, I see different opinions on the concept. Is the idea to provide genuine value in the article itself or to have it serve only as a sales funnel? I have read many articles on various directories that offer little value other than to point you to a sales opt in or sales page. This is not very satisfying as a reader! lol Also I have read articles that do give valuable information and I have benefited from reading them.

    c) 300-400 words per article when you are talking about 30 articles is quite a lot of content. Especially on the understanding that it is supposed to be qualified content on a particular niche. "Rinse and Repeating" this formula will lead you to upwards of 100 articles - this is 30,000 to 40,000 words. You are into the territory of the writing the equivalent of a novel. If I am not going to be outsourcing the writing or article spinning (which I agree is not for everyone), then this method of marketing is dependent on my skill and productivity as a writer?

thanks again - this post is one of the clearest I have read on this topic!

In order to expand and enhance this process you can do the same with squidoo lenses.
You can also try a free wordpress blog, but I'm not sure how they treat affiliate links.

Real power from this strategy comes when you pay for your own site, which is not expensive, and start basing your best articles and post there. Then use the blogger/wordpress/squidoo/hubpages/etc... to both generate traffic for your affiliate links, but also build backlinks and traffic for your main site.

EDIT--I will also agree with Charleskidd below. It is best to focus on one product, and a few articles at a time. All the articles in the world are worthless if no one sees them.

Instead of writing all those articles I get back links to 2 or 3 articles. There is automatic traffic from EZA but 25 submissions is not worth it if it's not working. EZA articles selling products don't really get that much hits unless its rank really good for a keyword. I think it would be better time spent if you get back links to 1 or 2 articles until they get good rankings. Also a better way to do it by having multiple different strartegies and accounts will social networks and do blasts. This is just an option but it works.

Thats a great CTR. Now lets wait for some sales to roll in. If you dont see any sales after 30-40 articles then change the product.

Hi Linda - It's just to get you started. You can write 40-50 on a product, see response and then decide to continue with the same niche/product or move to another one. It's all up to you. No hard and fast rule to this.

This is EXACTLY how I got into IM..As a newbie . I kept reading info given by experienced IM'ers on forums and grabbed every bit of info I could get and started off using this EXACT method. It worked for me and I know for a FACT it did for millions of people across the globe

      a) - Yes blogger allows that. I have over 30 such blogs.
      b) - A mix of both would be good. Writing 'useful' articles on 1 product - like 100-200 it practically impossible. So some WOULD indeed be fluff.
      c) Yes, I do not advice to outsource right away and don't think about the word count.. Just start by doing 5-10 articles a day and once you know the product and get a hang of it, you can write 1 solid article in just 10-15 mins. So by spending 1-2 hours a day you will soon have 100-200 articles live on EZA with constant traffic to your blog

      Glad you liked the post.

I agree. A link wheel would be perfect to build traffic to your content and eventually to your affiliate page / blog.

That is truly a better method but here, we are taking newbie-friendly and hence I shared this. Link building tends to intimidate newbies (been there myself). But, to each his own - Just tweak your methods and see what works for you.

Just a couple tip re article writing, perhaps good for article newbies, that were good for me.
Use a writing service to produce 10 articles for about $60. You want articles slightly above average quality. A good tip is to use workable keywords as part of the subject or title of the article, that gives the writer a place to start, and it makes it easier to work in keywords later.
Don't submit the article to ezines as delivered, instead rewrite them a little yourself first, this gets you more feel for how to write articles, and gives you a chance to work those keywords and phrases.
Allow your personality to come through instead of being text book perfect english, readers prefer a human touch.
    cheers.

ad.myws - you can't link directly to your affiliate link but you can link to a top level domain and have that redirect to your affiliate page

ie: www.yoursite.com - set index.php as the default page to display when people visit your site and in that file, put this code:

    <?php
    header("Location: http://www.youraffiliatelink.com/index.php?affid=23232"):

Someone mentioned earlier in this thread that [its not really that easy....and nowhere did you mention keyword research]. That might be true, but it does not detract from the fact that your write up is very useful for newbies and even more so when you consider that its free and to the point. Even on warrior forum, warriors are selling similar information and even in free ebooks that contain similar information, you will have to read through several pages just to get this information that you have provided in such a concise matter.

Thanks so much for sharing this information and for answering the follow up questions as well (there have been many). I'm very new to IM and love Bum Marketing methods (Travis has been a big mentor to me) and despite what some of the negative posters have written, these methods have worked for many and can work for anyone.

I don't understand why so many people keep talking about outsourcing the article writing and balking at the thought of writing anything themselves. The whole point of this system is to help IM novices make their first money online so they can then invest in domains, hosting, software (SENuke, Market Samurai, etc) and then maybe outsource some tasks. If you can pay for articles then you might as well buy some domains and host them on Hostgator.

Anyway, thanks again for giving so much value to the forum in this thread. I hope I can do the same once I have some experience.

      Excellent stuff.

Here is a pee on your parade moment, did not read all the post so it may have been mentioned before but..........when you put tons of time into a model you do not own you are on shaky ground. Just a little while ago many blogger blogs were wiped out including very well paying ones that cost someone a fortune in monthly income. When you use squidoo and 6 months in they decide your landing page you have built there is spam and destroy it what then? Own your landing pages. Buy the domain, simple wordpress site of one page is better then the chance that your income can be destroyed when they decide it is spam or someone marks it as spam. There is no free. It all cost in some way if you want to protect your income.

Agree with you that you should own your own landing pages and domain long term, the intent (I believe) of this was to show newbies like myself that this can be done. Many new people need to experience the work involved and see the results of their efforts without losing money out of their wallets right off the back.

It is refreshing to see that someone is showing "one way" to create an income without asking for an investment. It is important that new folks learn that no matter what you end up doing, work is going to be involved.

Yes owning your own sites, landing pages and domains is the way to go once you have your feet wet a bit and begin to understand or have a vague idea of what you're doing. This however is a fantastic way to begin to learn.

Nice experiment . Thanks for sharing.

Redirects do work better - The vendor sales pages are much more influential and geared towards better conversions.

These are great stats BTW - Getting 6 or even 3 sales with 10 articles is excellent !

Two weeks ago I submitted 10 articles with the blog URL and 10 with the domain redirect URL to 10 of the best article directories.

      So far:

      Redirect: 6 sales
      Blog/Landing Page: 3 sales

Could be a fluke. I have to try it again with another product to know for sure.

Some excellent info here matty. Thanks a ton for sharing.
You are absolutely right - Keeping every lead is the crunch of IM.
Good luck in your list building efforts, buddy.

Originally Posted by matty-81 View Post

However, I've always used free landing pages like Blogger or HubPages or redirects to use as links in my reosurce boxes.

I did pretty well but the problem was that it was just too inconsistent. Sure, there would be days when I made over $100, but there would also be times when I went 3 or 4 days with no commissions.

I figured if I was going to put the effort into writing all of these articles, then I should be capturing email addresses so I could continue to market to the people who clicked-through.

I came to understand that it's not about the quick sale, it's about building a relationship and repeat business.

If you can't write well or don't want to create a newsletter, that's no problem. That's what PLR is for. I went to Tradebit and picked up a few audio and video courses about Clickbank and IM, and that's what I use as a course for my autoresponder. I recently sent out a four module MP3 course on Clickbank that I got for $.99! I sent one module every day for four days, and didn't make my pitch until the last day. My list ate it up!

The last day I pitched a popular Clickbank tutorial course. I included a domain that redirected to the affiliate page. I only have 107 people on my list (not that bad for 3 weeks), and I actually made 7 sales! Now, these are prospects that I can market to again in the future using another $.99 course or ebook, etc.

Imagine if you can build a list of 5000 or more people? You'll literally have an instant huge payday at your fingertips.

There is nothing wrong with BUM Marketing. In fact, it works great and I'll always stand by it. But if you want to make consistent income, you need to build a list of targeted prospects. Plain and simple.

Another thing is that now I only write one or two articles a day instead of 10 or 12. I'm no longer relying on the articles for commissions. All I want to do is keep growing my list.

    Thanks for the good info,
    this techniques works!

but sometimes people dont get traffic,

i just want to add a quick tip...

when doing research make sure to do keyword research.
    find a high search keyword(15k search's a month)
and low competing pages for the "keyworrd phrase in google"(around 100k competiting pages is good)

and build backlinks to your articles...
    social bookmarking
and articlemarketing to your main money article is a good strategy to add to your wonderful tips.

    thanks Icanwrite

    nice to see people share...
