Newbie! But learning fast

Hi Warriors,
I started this web marketing just less than a week ago. Talk about information overload. This forum was the first place I joined, I'm glad I did.
I got domaine name (not very good tho), got my FTP sorted. Uploaded my files to Hostgator, and got my autoresponder from aweber, job done. That took me 3 days to master, and help from the techy crews on the sites.
I'm now in the process of promoting my site so I can get "The List".
Iv'e done backlinks on 4 well known websites, Iv'e joined 6 traffic exchanges and surfed to get my site qualified. I also use freetrafficbar and trafficswarm. I started a fanpage on facebook to send my 1500 friends to with a note to pass it on to their friends. I filled this fanpage with info and links to my site which is paypal and CB monetized.
What do you suggest I do now? And how long, in your oppinion, before I start to see some results?.
ALL criticism is welcome, be it good or bad, I'm a NEWBIE not a baby.
Thank's for your input.
Regards.
Steve.

    Hi Steve,

The most important thing for any newbie is to stay FOCUS.
There are so many ways out there (and in here!) to make money,
but if don't stay focus, then you will go nowhere.

Also, most newbies are always tempted to jump in the "make money"
niche and this is not a good idea. Try to play outside this area first and
you can always come back later, when you're loaded with ammos

    Good luck!

    Warmly,
    Farid

P.S. As for the traffic exchanges - try to avoid it. It's no good.

  • First off Mad Chef don't be too anxious there is no given timeline for results. You have completed the basics as far as website set up, getting aweber and hosting. What niche are you in? You need to build a squeeze page and load up your aweber with the content that you are giving away to get the visitors email.

Put your squeeze page domain in your signature below. Put it in your signature for your article marketing, video marketing, press releases, etc. Go to tube mogul and blast your video out. Take your stab at Google Adwords once you have a decent (20% or higher) converting sign up percentage.

Create a blog using fantastico using wordpress and make important valueable posts, to help people solve problems relating to your niche. You can send your email list to free valuable info at least 70% of the time and then send them to affiliate offers the other 30.

Eventually paid advertising (pay per click, adsense, facebook advertising) will give you the traffic to your site to see some results. You need to start with a squeeze page that has great offer and target your visitors based on keyword research.

You can use my squeeze page if you like, I have a post on my blog on how to hijak my squeeze page and use it as your own. Don't be afraid to buy a course. Look on IM Report card for grade of products - excellent resource.

Hey Steve! Welcome to the forum, it's a great place you'll learn lots and meet great people. Check out all the free downloads and warrior tools, I do suggest you invest in the war room membership, I don't think there's ever been a single person who's regretted it.

Don't talk yourself down. You have a domain name, that's great. You know how when we're kids, most of us end up going through a stage for a bit where we just don't like our name? But then of course there are other people that just love it. Or maybe you think what we up here in Canada call something, or a person from some other country... Point is, a name is unique, and can be used in many ways, always look for the positive. Don't walk around with a sign on your face that says "I don't like my name" Or else that's what people will read from you, that's what you'll project, and that's what you'll have, a name nobody likes. Nice thing about domain names, you can play with the letters and words and do what you want. Split it up into an acronym, make two words that have some of the same letters and call it an amalgamation...
Sell it to somebody who does like it, or whatever else... Again, the point is, set your sights up, stay positive and don't let the negative energy in, even if it is just doubting the quality of your domain.
