Hello, Im kinda new to internet marketing. However, I have my own site and have been making reviews of clickbank products. I want to know how to build a reputation as an internet marketer and maybe in 10 years, create my own product. I need a mentor, right now it would be free but as my income will grow in 3-6 months I could even pay. But aside from that, what tips you give in general for someone looking to make money as an affiliate?

Before you start searching for mentor do some research before you make any decision. Keeping a mentor is good however, you ahve to do some research on your part.

If you can't afford to pay a mentor, perhaps you could offer to work for him/her in exchange for mentoring.

I know that's worked well for others.

      Good Luck!

    Hi Fazal,

The best way to go with affiliate marketing is niche marketing.
Once you dominate a niche, you can monetize it with Adsense,
CPA, affiliate products, or even your own products when it's time.

    Cheers,
    Farid

But aside from that, what tips you give in general for someone looking to make money as an affiliate?
Number #1: Forget about building a reputation for yourself. Ask
yourself..."Am I in this to make MONEY? Or to make FAME?" You
don't need to be well known like Alex Jefferies, John Reese and
    others.

For every great marketer who IS in the spotlight, there are many
more who make great livings who AREN'T in the spotlight. I know
because I talk to many people who do things under-the-radar.

Number #2: You don't need to wait 10 years to create your own
product. When and if you create one, will be based on the confi-
dence you have for doing it. I do best personally with PLR products
or those of my own. But that's just me.

Number #3: You will NOT find a mentor worth his salt who will
do it for free. Period. Not gonna happen. What you WILL find are
people who are willing to help you and put you under your wing
if your already working towards your goal.

If you stop working on your goal to FIND a mentor, you'll have a
hard time doing it. But if you focus on moving forward, you'll get
offers for free help and advice.

Number #4: The BEST affiliate marketing advice I can give you is
to not take advice from anyone on this forum (including me). Do
your OWN due diligence. Be a leader, because LEADERS makes the
    money.

Research pays off, and relying on the often bad advice of people
on this forum will slow you down more than you could ever know.

On the other side, it can be a great deal of help if you have a mind
of your own to process information and make rational, solid decisions.

        Hi Barney,

Has anyone actually made an extremely high level of income in the Alex Jeffery's coaching program?

I see alot of people talking about starting their first blog and making a few $hundred in affiliate income.

Can you give some case studies?

Fazal, let me ask you something.

    Where are you from?

And the reason I ask this is because I want to make sure that you really can't afford to pay someone to mentor you.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

The best free mentor you can get is this forum.

The best way to build your reputation is to get out and meet people.

You may think that Internet Marketing is all about doing stuff online but most successful IMers actually work with people they've met offline in person.

I've met around 100 WF members in person over the years - maybe more.

So while you may see me here posting and think that I'm sat at home in my pants making money on my own - I actually get out and meet people regularly and so many of the people that help me make money, and who I help make money - are also now my friends who I can meet up for a beer and a chat with.

I do business with several WF members regularly. Some of them I've never met but have worked with over several years.

Karl Warren is a good example - I give Karl graphics work regularly and he's in the UK but we've never met in person. I'd still call Karl a friend and happily recommend him to others.

The same with John Taylor - we've done things together many times over the years and made money for each other and together. I've never met John in person (despite arranging to several times) but again I'd call him a friend and recommend him to others.

If you want a reputation - help others make money. They'll want to work with you more and will tell others about you.

Go to seminars - meet people. If you want to just keep it online - help others make money and make some friends.

Affiliate marketing is a good start and you can easily get some relationships by selling some product for people.

Andy hit the spot there. Help someone make more money and they'll in return do the same. Now you might wanna dig into it and find out the ways you could make money for someone.

you could offer your services, create content for them, offer to do something techie for them or something like that. And it doesn't have to be a guru, you can simply do this with fellow warriors.

Also like Andy pointed out. Get out and go to seminars or meetups and meet people offline who work online. Relationships are the most important asset 'I' have in my business at the moment.

Plus, you are toying with idea that if someone wants to mentor you, you'll provide your contact details. WHAT DO THEY GET IN RETURN?

You need to ask yourself WHY anyone would mentor you? What are you providing in return?
