253 Hops per order?? My affiliates will kill me

Is there something wrong? If so, what is? My sales page? Or Clickbank?
I just checked my reports on CB, and this month I have an average of 253 Hops per order (33 orders this month).
More astonishing is that 2 of my main affiliates are using PPC with almost similar keywords and Ads.
One affiliate has got 15 sales in 1310 hops (less than 100 hops per sale)
The Other affiliate has 1 sale in 1430 hops (More than 1400 hops per sale)

More astonishing fact is that for the past 3 months, I was getting an average of 70 hops per order.
Why is there SUCH a tremendous conversion rate failure?

What is wrong? My affiliates will surely kill me for such pathetic conversion rates

I feel your pain, some of my aff campaigns which of course are ultra targeted from top to bottom are getting way too many hops and less sales from clickbank, maybe it is time to move on (for me anyways and find or start working with other aff networks.)

With those stats, you could lose your ppc affiliates, unless they have ultra dirt cheap keywords that convert and pull.

Ive heard of only one other affiliate network : Paydotcom. Are there any other which you would recommend? Won't it affect my sales as Ive already gained some affiliates at CB, who are constantly promoting the product.

Moving to another network will make me lose those affiliates and ill have to work from scratch again.
Which aff network will let me pull in affiliates most easily?

Clickbank is the easiest because it is the largest, but I firmly believe you shouldn't rely on them or the efforts of others that aren't true partners.

Some professional affiliate outfits use both paydotcom and clickbank. They set up websites and recruit affiliates on their own, plus they have links on the salespages they use with CB or PDC to drive those affiliates to their own affiliate site.

This allows you to offer both CB & PDC affs a quick way to sign up with you and become your affs (so you can build a relationship). With CB the affiliates aren't yours unless you do something like this, so I think your focus should always be on affiliates you recruit.

Also E-Junkie is another affiliate program. Suuuuper cheap, great customer checkout experience, they can put the customer on an autoresponder for you, and you can sell hard good and use ebay.

Personally, I don't care for CB, but staying with them and testing your pages while you have your own affiliate center set up with multiple programs seems to make the most sense.

I definitely recommend offering three versions of the same salespage:

          1. 1 for cb

          2. 1 for pdc

          3. 1 for your own affiliate program (that is, using a third party software such as Fantasos, idev, RAP, etc.)

Commissions for 1 and 2 would be same, but offer higher commissions to those who join the 3rd; it is a great incentive indeed

And don't forget that with your own affiliate software, you are more in control than either CB or PDC (provided that you use a reputed software). At the same time you won't want to lose out on the sales and affiliates you could get from cb and pdc. So what is the harm in doing all the 3?

Is it for the Joomla product in your sig? A couple suggestions:

Split test different headlines, order buttons, anything that might affect conversion rate.

Also, I don't see an opt-in form. Create a free giveaway (maybe a small piece of the product itself), collect opt-ins, and then create a 5 or 6 message autoresponder series that overcomes all the major objections.

Also, your headline is pretty far down, and possibly below the fold on some machines. I would split test completely eliminating the header (or drastically reducing its size) and see if that pulls better.

    Two things worth mentioning...

    1) It could be a slow month, hence the much lower conversions. Unfortunately, it happens.

    2) Slight variations in PPC ad copy can have *DRASTIC* differences in conversion rates (possibly explaining why 1 affiliate is converting so much better over the other one).

As a sidenote, here's something good that can come out of this analysis. Split test your salesletter using similar copy in your headline/subhead of your winning affiliate's PPC ad. You may be pleasantly surprised by the results

Switching affiliate networks will not solve the problem.

Since you're making some sales that means that your product is needed in your market.

You should try to embellish your sales page a little more and some type of a bribe so that a visitor opts in to get your bonus.

Split test your sales page see what works and what doesn't.

The warning box above the headline has a very negative feel
to it. I'd rework the text or get rid of it altogether.... probably
    the latter.

I'd also do something about the colors... the yellow highlighting
on the light blue text is not attractive at all.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm completely rebuilding the sales page now. I think a black background with a reddish feel may be somewhat attractive. Ill be working on it all night now.
I also think, ill be joining EmailAces (only because they accept paypal) , and creating a 5-6 email autoresponder.
Hmmm.. Got a long night in front of me. Time to increase the conversion ratios.

Also, your headline isn't believable. 15 minuets? You've lost people right there. Saying "read on" ain't gonna cut it. You need to give them a reason to believe your 15 minute claim and keep reading.

Next, you could very well have a traffic problem. If you affiliates are sending generic "how to build a website" traffic, using words like Joomla could confuse them if they don't know what Joomla is. And a confused prospect never buys.

And the fact that you're claiming to offer $1,338 worth of value for $48 reeks of dishonesty. There's no way your prospects will believe that. At the very least it will confuse most of them (see above about confused prospects).

Also, your bullets in your copy say don't worry about extensions or templates anymore, yet 2 of your bonuses are templates and extensions. Not consistent.

I'd make the "500+ Joomla Extensions" bonus a "Surpirse Bonus". People looking for an easy way to build a site may be confused about what an extension is (see above about confused prospects). And even if they have minimal understanding, 500 of them may be intimidating. Plus you'll get the added lure of prospects wanting to find out what the surprise bonus is. I'd do the same for the template bonus.

And I'd drop the Internet Marketing Books bonus all together.

I could go on about the copy, but the bottome line is...the sales letter needs MAJOR ATTENTION.

Wow! That really got me going. Im doing some MAJOR updates to the sales page now. Ive changed the overall header and background etc. (I guess it looks more appealing. not sure though)
Im working on adding an opt-in form and will do something about the bonuses. Thanks a lot Lance...
