Interesting Email on IM

Hey all,

I havent been on the forums in a while and i miss it. I started to work on a project for IM but i decided it wasn't what i really wanted to do with IM.

Anyways, what im here to say is.... I got an email a few days ago from an internet marketer. In this email it basically said the best way to get the most sales, was to KNOW your buyer and KNOW what they want. I have been thinking a lot about this. I was wondering how would you go about doing that?

Any one have any examples? Or things they have actually done to get to know their buyers?



For instance if i wanted to sell speakers online... where would i go to know what my buyers are already buying?

Obviously if i wanted to think of a new product for IM i would go to the forums and read what people need help with. How could you take the same concept into other items?

    Every item that amazon sells has an indicator on it telling how well it is selling. For instance if I plug in "Speakers" and click on the first thing that pops up (Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia Speakers) then amazon tells me that it is #35 in the Computer Speakers category.

    I could then just browse to the computer speakers category and then sort by Bestselling and know which computer speakers are selling the most on amazon.
