How do you do your check lists?

I've always wondered how other marketers constructed their check lists (or if some didn't make lists at all).

How specific are your lists? Give an example.
What time frame do you give, if at all?
Where do you make your lists? Paper, PDA, Computer, etc...

Basically I guess I'm just curious if any of you have some crazy-cool-unique way of doing something seemingly boring.

I used to run through all the checklists of what marketing steps needed to be done & when mentally

But when I started to take on Staff I was forced to write them down in sequential order, including instructions on each step

I wish I had written the process down sooner as it helps clarify in your mind and especially when engaging staff, it helps you to be able to step away from certain tasks and concentrate on other things

I was terrible at time management and eventually was forced to settle down and put a daily marketing plan into my calendar. Since I have done that I really got a lot more done in a lot less time. One tip mind...don't go over the top with tasks as you still have to do the day to day things for your business the pop up. But if you prepare a reasonable schedule and do it you will be very surprised. Best wishes, Kieron

I am addicted to Windows 7 sticky notes. You can post as many as you want in any color you want. They stay on your desktop even after you log out and back in.

I keep running stickies for 1) Personal, 2) Online business, 3) Computer maintenance

I write everything down in a todo list and then write done list after the tasks have been done

I also use a journal to document everything which later can be used for seeing how far I have come and what I learned thus even using it as a reference for a product
