Banner Ads - No Clicks :(

For the past five months, I've been changing around banner ads from various affliliates and from all the various locations on my website, I think I have only gotten about 5 clicks or so, THE ENTIRE SIX MONTHS.
I don't know what the deal is. My ads are all relevant to my site, I've changed the banner ads, the location; trying to mix it up. I've gotten more clicks from my adsense ads and no sales from my banner ads.

What's the trick to converting banner ads?
#ads #banner #clicks

What kind of traffic is it? are you targeting the right demographics related to your site?

Make sure the banners have text on them and make sure you are putting a line of text directly under the banners as well. Actually, you might want to abandon banners entirely and try big old text links for a while, you might be surprised at how well that can work.

I think people have become immune to banners. Their brain
just shuts them out. Most surfers today are looking for info.
A link in text within the info might be best.

Google was genius to realize that people actually click on relevant text ads...

Always have a text option and make it big. Have you tried a banner rotation script?

My guess is your banners look like banner ads - thus the reason no one is clicking on them. The reason regular text ads work so well is that they appear to be part of the site - not an advertisement.

There are two things you should try. Firstly create a banner ad that looks exactly like a regular google text ad - and make sure the colors all fit in with your site design.

Secondly try and be creative with your banner ads. Make them appear part of your page content. Eg: If the page the banner ad leads to has a video on it, create a banner ad that looks like a video player with a screenshot from the video. People love to watch videos. People will click on the banner thinking it is a video and as long as you are sending them to a page with that video on it, you should see a nice increase in click-throughs.
