Would YOU buy this site?

I've just given an old web site a much needed face lift, so I can sell it.

I wondered if I could ask fellow Warriors to take a look over it to get some feedback and/or criticisms.

The site is auction techniques - selling on ebay. I asked a fellow Warrior (Sherice - ecoverartist) to create a new header for me, which I'm really happy with.

I then added a sales page, with a $7 info product, bolted on the original Blogger blog at the back end, plus some linked eBay articles to hopefully attract traffic.

Within the articles I have Adsense links.

For final measure, I have an optin script to build a list.

I'd love to hear your feedback please, before I put the site up for sale.

Thanks in advance.

You can definitely sell the site. Get higher bids if you are making money with it (show some stats). Well, try comparing your site to those sites with a product for sale listed on Sitepoint. You will find that your site is still far from what will sell for a high price.

Is your product updated to the new eBay rules and rating system for sellers? Do you have a price in mind? PM me as I might be interested.

As for your email list, I doubt you are allowed to sell or rent them. Not quite sure on this though.

      Hi Wayne

Thanks for your comments. The site gets about 200 visitors per month from the previous blog. I've literally only just finished the current design, so don't have any revenue stats as yet. I get a very minimal amount from Adsense, but nothing really worth mentioning.

I do have a price in mind, and I'll drop you a PM in a minute or two.

I will take your suggestion of looking through the other listings on SitePoint.

      Thanks again.

I wouldn't sell the list, but in the past I have offered to send a message to my list on behalf of the new owner to promote their new list, or to promote a product.

I would NEVER give out email addresses and names of anyone who subscribes to any of my mailing lists.

Sites with content only and no revenue/traffic/links only ever get sold for a few hundred dollars max. With your site, I would get at least some traffic over the period of a few months before selling, and make a few $7 sales at least. There are already way too many site flippers selling sites that have no revenue and honestly I don't think it's worth the time & effort. If you can get the site up to a few hundred bucks a month you can easily sell for thousands later (if revenue is constant) and that will give you a way higher ROI for the amount of effort you put in.

That would certainly be great to get more for the site, but to be honest, I'm trying to clear my domain portfolio and focus on a select few projects.

I, like many others, have got caught in the trap of starting so many projects at once, and not completing one properly. I ideally just want to move this site on and start maximising my income from my other main projects.

A few hundred dollars would be enough at this stage.

Are you selling the exclusive rights to the product, too?
      Do you own the product?
      What is your return rate?

The domain name is strong, that's for sure, but you might think about putting up a specialized page for each of the top 6 auction sites (whatever they may be ). I would be interested in knowing the price if you want to PM me the info above.
The content on the site at the moment is pure PLR content, that goes for the ebook too. Obviously, this will be stated in the auction details when it goes up for sale. I expect the new owner to customise the ebook to their own taste and experience once they've taken it over. Again, I'm not going to be asking a fortune for the site, but I don't want to undersell the domain name at all.

I know that eBay has made lots of changes over the past year, and I dare say they will continue to move goal posts, but I think that anything eBay (or online auction) related still holds potential for infoproduct sales. Also, the Adsense revenue option is continuous.

I would probably advise anyone taking it over to change the current Blogger blog to Wordpress and mimic the look of the main site, then keep adding new content to the blog to build traffic and affiliate sales, whilst promoting the main ebook.

I think it would look better is the bullet points were all in a row rather than staggered

Which bullet points are you referring to? The asterisk ones? They look ok to me through IE7. Which browser / resolution are you using?

Well, I am a happy boy!!

Sine redesigning the site, I sent a broadcast out to just under 600 subscribers, and so far have made 2 sales of the ebook, so at least I know the sales page is pulling in some interest. Perhaps could do with some tweaking, but need to leave it longer to see the overall sales percentage.

Thanks to everyone so far who has made comment. Much appreciated.
