Your eBook In Physical Form... Help?

Hey Warriors,

I was wondering how people ship out their digital content in book form. I know Kunaki handles it if it was to be put on a CD, but if I wanted to make a spiral bound book in the form of my book and ship it to my prospects door, how would I go about that?

I know about self-publishing sites, but I don't want to buy my own product, have them ship it to me and when I ship it to the customer. I'm talking automation, or at least dropshipping.

What comes to mind is Mike Filsaimes recent promotion of his magazine. He sent out a spiral bound book with it that was also a digital book.

Do you really have to buy them, have them shipped to your door and then ship them again? Sounds awfully annoying and what I would rather not do.

Thanks warriors!

  • You can have have your book printed in bulk, and rely on a fulfillment house to take your orders and ship them.

You can also house the merchandise yourself, package it yourself and mail them yourself for much cheaper. You can buy online postage from providers like stamps.com or endicia.com (use media mail, not flat rate or priority), stick the labels on yourself, and drop them off at the post office.

Your timing is good, as I was asking who had physical products, since I am thinking about developing a web service that would provide some of the automation you were asking about:

  • If it is spiral bound, look at your local Fedex/Kinkos. They can have your book in their system and print and ship on demand.

  • Wow, long list there Michael!

To the people saying they use Lulu.com, I wish I could. They seemed great, but they would not dropship, and I do not want to have to check who ordered a physical product, order one for them, wait for Lulu to ship it to me, and then ship it out to the customer.

    • Why not just order it through Lulu and have it shipped directly to the customer?
