Hello,
I'm very interested in purchasing Artisteer since it seems to be very useful and versatile tool.

I just have one quick question if you don't mind and I'd appreciate any input I can get.

Can I use Artisteer to create sales page? I mean proper sales pages? I've seen some sites use wordpress as their sales page so am I able to design a wordpress theme with Artisteer for my product?

Thanks in Advance,
Benjamin

I've bought Artisteer a couple of months ago. Yes - you can build plain html sites with Artisteer. However if you're a marketer I would recommend you start with Xsitepro.

Absolutely you can. If I were using it for such though, I would create two project using the same theme.

Thanks for the Xsitepro recommendation; going to give that a look however may I know why Xsitepro might be better than Artisteer?

Thanks, I think I might indeed go with Artisteer to make my sales page. It seems very easy to use tool and a lot better than purchasing a $97 design.

By the way do you know if artisteer provides some royality free images or where I can find royality free images?

Thanks, I can't wait to get started on my sales page with artisteer. Going to check out Xsitepro first as the person above mentioned.

You can use Artisteer to make a sales page. What you need to do is go to Layout then Page Layout and choose the layout with just the header.

          Good luck with it.

Yes you can use Artisteer to create a sales page - it's just a one column site, after all.

The good thing about it is that it's in Wordpress so you can use the plugins and automatic pinging to help get indexed and generate traffic.

You could also set it up so that there are articles available so if people aren't sure if they want to spend money yet they can see the quality of your articles to help them make a decision and Wordpress is perfect for this. Just be sure to put a "get more details..." with a link back to the sales page.

There are no images provided, but you can go to iStockPhoto or Clipart.com to get royalty free images, or you can Google that phrase to find others. The prices on iStockPhoto aren't bad and Clipart.com is super affordable if you get the one week option and then download the heck out of it.

One thing you need to know, though, is that Artisteer does not work on versions of Wordpress higher than 2.8.2. It's not hard to find that version fortunately - a search on Wordpress.org will get it for you.

Another drawback is that it is a memory pig, so you can't have anything else running when you're working on it. I plan my sessions for first thing in the morning and even then I have to clear temp files or reboot several times in order to finish the project.

The advantage to Artisteer is that you get great original sites that don't look like anyone else's.

If you haven't tried it, be sure to get the trial version first. They do not give refunds and you want to make sure you're going to like it before you spend the money. The trial is for 30 days and will give you plenty of time to evaluate it.

You might also want to look at Socrates and see if that would be a good choice for you. I haven't tried it, but it looks like it's fast and easy. It doesn't create separate Wordpress themes that you can sell, but might be perfect for you.

In the layout section of Artisteer it's possible to choose a variety of columns and their position. For instance, you can choose a single, full page option without any side columns, which would be suitable for a sales page.

The program also comes with a variety of headers and images that can be added to the headers from within the program. You can also change colors of headers, backgrounds, etc. It will also allow you to import other images you might prefer to add to the header.

I've added themes I've created with Artisteer to several Wordpress 2.92 sites without any problem.

Wow ok thanks, I'll give their trial a go and see how it goes. It sounds great already only I'm afraid my laptop might have issues with it but I guess the trial will pinpoint any issues.

Thanks for the tip for royalty free images. clipart.com sounds pretty interesting. Is it the same used on microsoft word? Can't I just take the images from Microsoft word or is royalty free not included in them? Sorry when I hear clip Art I immediately think of word.

Thanks, I look forward to giving it a go. Saves me a lot of money instead of paying $50 for every design I get designed.

Ok Thanks, The header should be a good advantage hopefully the learning curve won't be that big. I heard it was known for the ease of use so I thought of giving it a go.

Clipart.com is not the same as the clipart on Word. I would not recommend taking the ones from Microsoft unless you've checked with them and made sure they are, indeed, royalty free. But Clipart.com is extremely reasonable if you get the one week option.

You can also do a Google on "royalty free" images and see what else shows up. There are a ton of sites out there with images that aren't being widely used so you can have a unique look to your site.

Oh Ok Thanks very much for your help. It does seem very reasonable $14 for a week with over a million pictures.
