How much content to put in paid e course?

I want to develop a mini course, say a lesson per week over 5 weeks, to included some original video and one email where I give individual feedback to participant.

I am trying to avoid spending on other peoples courses to save money, so have no idea how much content people offer on these type of courses having never taken one.

As an example let's say my audience is not in the money making niche, but amateur photographers using low to medium end compact cameras. So on a fairly tight budget.

So I think $24.95 to a price they would pay - but how much content to give without under or over delivering ?

thanks

paul

It's not about the amount of content but the value of that content to the people buying it.

If your course is for hotel owners showing how to make more money hosting corporate events - you could make a 20 page ebook and a set of videos and charge $5k.

If it's just more IM info for the make money niche - you could create 200 pages and 50 videos and some people won't pay $20 for it.

It comes down to your reputation in your chosen niche, what that niche is and the perceived value of the information.

I wouldn't recommend starting to create a course (or any product) without first researching your market. That includes knowing your customers/prospects as well as being aware of the other products serving that market.

It's a false economy, IMO, not to buy/research examples of successful products which you intend to emulate.

Your paid ecourse should be like a miniskirt...

"...long enough to cover everything, but
short enough to keep it interesting."

I love that analogy. I think I will file that one away for later use.

Why not overdeliver? People will love it, you'll gain a name for yourself, and then you can launch a bunch of new products based on your new great reputation for overdelivering.

However I agree with the point not to make it tedious and boring. Only give content that is fresh and interesting.

First - make sure the demand is substantial, off the top of my head, as a low-end camera user, I'm not sure what I would buy and e-course on - for any price...but that's just me...

You want to find a consistent patterns of eager desire for whatever your solution is to yoru market - if that doesn't exist, it will always be an uphill battle to sell them anything at any price.

As to how much content - it really does come down to delivering on the promise of helping your market get the result they desire. If that takes 1 page and a video, ok - if it takes a series of videos, ok...bottom line is getting them a system & support they need to get the result you promised them.
