Rant about Facebook ads

OMFG Facebook is run by a band is idiots.

I got a few coupons and i though i would try to advertise there for a while.

I create a business account and go to setup my ads.

Poof .... account blocked for suspicious activity. Apparently setting up ads from a business account is suspicious... whatever..I fill the stupid for and lose the weekend and all its visitors waiting for Facebook to answer me.

Then yesterday i receive an email saying my ads were rejected because my account is suspended but that i am free to resubmit them if it comes back up.

This morning i wake up and see that my account is back up...great.

so i go to create more ads and reactivate the previously created ads. Hummmm.... weird....i can delete them but to reactivate them...no problem i go edit the ads and save them again..... .WRONG..... since they have been rejected onces i can't save them back even if i do some minor changes to the ad...result...i will need to reenter all my ads.

They sound as fun to deal with as Google Adwords...

      Rhelaine,

I don't think your experience is the norm. I have a couple of fan pages (or whatever they call them now) that I've run ads for and I have to say I think they're awesome. My newest page had 8 fans (just my friends) until I ran an ad for a few days and now I have 100 fans. With my music fan site, I let the campaign run for two weeks and ended up with 1000 total fans (starting out with about 100).

Do you think it had something to do with your content? Did they give a reason for blocking your account?

I wouldn't write FB ads off just yet. Good luck!

      Ken

I heard that the people at facebook are picky about the types of ads that get run - if they look spammy at all, they will be rejected.

I don't blame you for being frustrated and annoyed. It sounds like you have had a really rough time with facebook. good luck in the re-submission of adds. I hope they run well this time. Thankyou for the heads up to the rest of us.

    Ask yourself one thing...

What have you ADDED to the value of the forum with this rant?

    Secondly...

What did you ADD to the value of facebook with your advertisements?
(because that's all they are worried about - not YOU, but their USERS - probably)

If they've rejected your ads/account, then that's between you and them...

    (1) what STEPS did you take to rectify the situation?
    (2) what would you do differently today if you were to start again?
    (3) what is the future for your business in terms of facebook advertising?

If you answer those three questions, not only will you help your own business - but a thread like this would also be productive and helpful.

    Kindest regards,
    Karl.

Sorry to hear about your situation

I bought a WSO off here "Facebook Domination" (I think) and have not had any problems with my ads whatsoever

Perhaps its worth spending $12 or so to learn from someone who is already having success with their ads?
