Newbie with content delivery process question

Hi Warriors,

My name is Justin and I’d like to ask a content delivery process question. I’m a long time watcher but first time poster so please be gentle!

My aim is very simple. I want to test the possible commerciality of a niche I’m interested in developing further material for. I plan to test by seeing if prospects will opt in for my free eCourse. I figure, if prospects won’t even opt in for some quality free information they probably won’t be inclined to buy, or I know I’m targeting the wrong type of keywords.

Maybe this is wrong thinking but it’s my approach for now.

I'm going to use the process described below:

Stage 1 - Use PPC to drive prospects to a squeeze page. This tests my ad writing ability and lets me know if my ad is compelling.

Stage 2 – If they click through the ad, I’ll offer the free "eCourse" as my opt in bribe on my squeeze page.

My actual question is The delivery method of my eCourse.

Option A - Just use aweber to send the 5 part course as emails over a period of time. This seems like the quickest and easiest way to deliver the content.

Or

Option B - Setup a membership blog style site. Use aweber to send emails to alert clients when the new content is ready, and stagger the posts.

Option B requires more investment on my side. I’m not afraid of “more work” however, seeing as the point is to only test the niche I'm thinking of just delivering the content over email.

Does anyone have any comments or experiences with the best way to approach the content delivery?

Thanks for any comments,
Cheers,
Justin.

    Justin,

You have the right idea. Testing a market before investing too much time and money is definitely the way to go.

I would probably lean away from the free ecourse type deal these days. People want the information and they want it now. You would probably be better off just offering a free report or a free video or something along those lines to test the waters.

Hand-written reports tend to work really well. You could just write out a report, scan it onto your computer, convert it to a pdf, and offer that as your lead magnet.

So when they optin, send them to a blog type page where they can download the free report. Try and use a blog as it allows people to leave you comments/feedback about the report so you can see what can be improved.

I would prefer using a blog. It helps to build content and relations. You can combine the ecourse with it though.

    All the best.

No point going to all the trouble of putting a blog together when he is only interested in testing the waters. Just giveaway some free stuff to get some leads and then see how you go at selling related affiliate products to those leads. If you make some sales then you know you are in a good market.

Don't be too scared though if you make some sales but end up losing money (ie: you are spending more on PPC than you are receiving in sales). You main concern is to just sell some stuff. If people are buying then you can create your own product where you get to keep 100% of the profits and all of a sudden you will go from losing money to making money.

or digital access pass which is memebership wordpress plugin, you can set up and people suscribe and start getting emails with links to your content, no matter if is text, pdf files, videos, mp3, this is very powerfull i think

Use simple emails for testing and if you're successful, switch to a blog.

I would go with Option A - Use Aweber to deliver your course. If that is successful, build on it and expand. Build your 'student' base first.
