How do people write reviews if they never seen the product?

Hey.

I work online 2 years now and want to expand my work. I just signed up for some new upcomming launches next time and ask myself how others can write reviews about it when they never have seen the product? I wont name it here but i have seen reviews and contacted the creators...but they have and will not give away review copys... so how could that be??

Maybee someone can explain.

Cheers,

Patrick

I think a lot of people actually buy it before doing a review... You know since the ones doing the reviews usually claim to make soooo much money, it isn't a big deal to have small expenses like that.

Some just reword testimonials and information from the sales page. Less of a 'review' really.

Well, depends on the product...At the moment I am facing that dilema, I am working on a review site for the epic traffic system but as it is priced at 1997$, so I won't be able to afford it, I will need to do some kind of joint venture to get access to the product or if I manage to sell two copies, I will be given access for free...we'll see what come first.

I intend to do an ongoing developing review on a new site that will have "review" in the url (not the ones in my signature, they are sales site not review sites).

I think you should take all reviews of products with a great pinch of salt and judge them on their merits. Review sites which are not reviews but disguised sales pitch should be easily identifiable by someone in IM.

You have to decide what ethical line you want to take.

      Best of luck.

Are you talking about IM product launches?

If you go to jvnotifypro.com and sign up...you'll actually get a lot of ready-made review articles as an affiliate. Certain product creator already got review blogs/articles you can use.

Most just spinned or modified those review articles.

Because they either don't care about their reputation long term or they are just dont care at all and only care about making a quick buck.

Other just wing it. I received one this week from a product saying that he received it and fully reviewed it over the weekend including all the training videos and then gave it a glowing report. I am fully familiar with this program and there is no way anyone is going to carry out a full review in a weekend and comprehend what the software can do and give an informed personal opinion as he suggested he was doing. This person has lost credibility in my eyes.

In general the big buck's are all made at the launch and so that is why people seem not to care that they can't actually see inside the product itself before they go and promote it.

But then if you look at it from the product owner's side and other JV partners and affiliates then really if anyone could get access to the product even if they weren't going to promote but just said they were then why would they give out free copies unless the people who asked had proven track record's??

        Mark,

*Some* people have access to advanced copies, Beta testers.

They read it, use it, test it, whatever they can/want do with it. It's quite common here in WF with some WSO's.

That's why networking and creating strong connections is a big part of this game.

There may be some reviews from the beta testers. Sometimes, review copies are given before the product is launched actually.

I only review products I've purchased and like and use. I don't want to promote products that I wouldn't buy or use.

Recently I was contacted about an upcoming product launch. I was advised to go ahead and buy a relevant domain and get a review site going so that I would be one of the first to take advantage. I didn't receive any info about the offer except the name. The first thing I thought of was price. If I went ahead and bought a domain, set up a site in preperation then found out the sticker was high...just not enough info to review.

Patrick, it's easy. They lie. They take the boilerplate "reviews" furnished by the product creator then either just slap their name on it or try to rewrite it. Either way, they are not telling you the truth.

Fernando, that seems to take them out of the "never seen the product" group, doesn't it?

just highlight what you know about the product and talk about how beneficial it is

Do you honestly expect someone like David Beckham to own every piece of crap he puts his name to or actually care beyond picking up a cheque?

People do it all the time, they get told what to say in the script, and sometimes they improvise.

I have been given products before now by some just by asking for a copy to review before I decide to promote. Of course not all will give you a copy but always worth asking.

Some people are given copies to review. Some of them just rewrite reviews from other sites just to get them their own. If you find something suspicious, don't trust them and move to the next review.

To write an honest review you just have wait to buy it and try it out or you
    could try and
Aproach the vendor offer to buy it for half price and you will do an honest
    review of his product
If he has something to hide me may not go for it or he may have enough
    testimonials from others
