Article marketing tips to explode your explosions and make your profits more quarterly

Article Marketing Tip #1

Know what your article is going to be used for! An article for the front page of Yahoo will take more time than an article for backlinks, so don't work too hard.

Tip #2

No matter what your article is for (except for emails), it should be search engine optimized. Include your keyword every 100 words or so, and try to bold it if you can. Lastly, use is as anchor text for a link.

Tip #3

Post your articles on your site first! Why help the article directories rank? Remember, they want visitors to click on Adsense, not your links. Why waste your work?

Tip #4

Write your title first (and make sure that your keyword is in it!). This makes it much easier to write quickly, because yuo know exactly what the article should deliver.

Tip #5

Use them again. Turn your articles into emails for your auto responder, combine them into an ebook to give away, combine into a big ebook to sell, or make a PLR pack. Just be efficient.

Tip #6

Make your resource box as relevant as possible to increase your CTR. If your article is on cat fishing, don't include a link to cat training. You'll just be losing valuable traffic.

Tip #7

If it works, keep doing it! Don't write 30 articles, then move on. Write 100 pointing to your landing page, then write 100 more. If you write 200 articles pointing to your landing page, you will have a very difficult time not making money from your list.

    Tip #9

Don't over think the process. If someone tells you to submit to 5 or 10 specific directories and has proof that they don't well, copy them shamelessly. Don't go 'what if I only do these 3 or these 2.4'... just do what works.

Great tips! Also I cannot stress that Tip #5 is vital for your success. Never merely write an article and then forget about it. Re-use that article as many times as you can. Turn your articles into a podcast, turn into a video, take 10-20 articles and drip feed them to blogs on Wordpress, Blogger, Typepad, Weebly, etc. (all pointing back to your money site)

Tip #10 - don't merely submit articles to article directories. Everyone and their mother has had something to say about the effectiveness of EZA articles in recent months - so why not also submit to web 2.0 properties. Seriously!! If you have a low competition keyword and the front page of google is not taken over by authority sites, write a hubpage or squidoo lens, point anywhere from 10-50 decent backlinks to it and the likelihood is you will be on page 1 a lot sooner than you think!

Point #4 made me smile because I do start with a title as always before writing down the points I want to deliver -- not to mention some people who've already finished their whole article body without a title yet.

For me at least, it's just so much faster to write the article if I have the title done already. Especially if it's something like '5 tips' or '7 ways' and I know what I want the word count to be, it takes almost no time to outline it and get it done. No writer's block either!

    Tip #11

Have a low traffic keyword? Find two more and optimize your article for all three! Very few people bother with low competition keywords, so you'll rank pretty quickly, and get decent traffic.

Tip #12 - Following on from Sean's #7, I totally agree! People often ask how many articles should I write? Never have a specific number in mind, just keep writing. However, you may often have days where you are stuck for ideas and inspiration. It's hard to keep coming up with new ideas when you have written hundreds of articles around the same keywords, and said the same thing in a hundred different ways.

What I like to do is open a new gmail account. Then set up a google alert for numerous keywords, e.g. "How To Lose Weight", "How To Lose Body Fat", How To Lose Your Love Handles", etc.

Within a day or 2 your inbox will be full with up to the minute and relevant articles, blogs and news stories based around your specified keywords. Spend 2-3 hours reading through your emails, with a pen and paper in hand (yes I still know how to use a pen and a paper ) and make some notes.

Trust me after a few hours, your head will be brimming with new ideas and you should have enough notes for your next batch of 30,50,100 or however many articles

      Cheers

          Sean,

LOL!!! You're welcome. I have about 20 separate gmail accounts set up for different niches and although I will admit there is a lot of crap, there are definitely a few gems.

Admittedly some of the niches I have never entered, got involved in or promoted however I know that if i ever do, I have a stack of relevant information sitting in an email account waiting for me!

          Cheers

I do something similar; I have an RSS plug in for Thunderbird and subscribe to feeds in my niche. Does the same thing, but without the need for a lot of accounts. :-)

I've never been a fan of the absurd adjectives/verbs that get used in product titles, had to poke a bit of fun. They convert though, so whatever works :-)

    Great tips, especially #7

You got me there, I tend to write 30 articles and move on. Time to get my head down and write 200 articles all pointing at one page. I am inspired

I'm looking for a thread about imploding my implosions. Does anyone know where I can find one of those?

    Good stuff, Sean! Nice share.
