How to put life back into an old product ... and monetize online videos?

Hey, I'm looking for some good ideas here.

I've got a craft site that's about 2 1/2 years old that is starting to die off a little bit. I started off by using YouTube, articles, and some blog commenting to direct visitors to my sales page whick sold some tutorials on DVDs for $14.95. (Yeah, burned and mailed them myself... blah!)

That got time consumer so I then switched to an idea from Frank Kern about using my autoresponder to give away several private videos that I was selling to show the visitors how good the quality is ... get them "hooked" and have their projects underway ... and then lead them to a sales page for digital downloads for $9.95.

It saved me a lot of time and I got positive feedback on it ... for a while. I didn't actually make more in sales (about $130/month), but the time I saved on labor was worth it to me.

The site was paying for all my marketing expenses for other projects, so I just let it run. But it's really been dying off lately, I've been starting to get a little negative response to it, ("How come this isn't Free? You're just trying to make people buy stuff!") so now I'd like to figure out a way to re-monetize it with all the traffic I've been getting.

Seems that most of my visitors are either older ladies that aren't computer savvy ... or they're broke, "creditcard-less" high school kids. Not a lot of buyers there ... but the interest & traffic is.

I've noticed that after 2 years now, a few other people are starting to teach the same craft on YouTube and their views are really hoppin. Most of the people looking for this info are freebie seekers ... but I did prove to myself that there are "some" buyers ... so there's money to be made.

That got me thinking that maybe I should break down all 2 hours of content into roughly 5 minute segments, put them on YouTube (and embed them on my site) and apply for a partnership... to double or triple the monthly income (I figure a few hundred bucks a month possibly)

Only problem with that is it's kind of a gamble. I'd have to give it all away for free and HOPE I get accepted. I figure they could go more viral that way with happier viewers and I'd cut my monthly costs down by more than half (been privately hosting the give away videos on my site) ... but it could backfire on me.

My other thought was do it anyway, and figure out a way to monetize my site (...but the YouTube traffic is bigger than my site traffic ... so I'd be leaving visitors & money on the table).

Adsense is about the only thing I can think of ... but I think I'd be lucky to do $20-30/month. Don't think CPA matches this niche either. Not sure selling ad space on the site would be so hot either.

Anyone go some cool ideas to monetize my videos and the site?

Why not sell other craft related products and not the videos?

Or, offer the videos FREE when someone makes a purchase of some kind.

For your future reference, you can do the videos via Kunaki. They will print and ship on demand for just a couple of bucks.

Selling other craft products may work ... only problem may be that I'm showing people how to recycle junk into crafts ... so I guess I really did set myself up for freebie tire kickers!

I was going to do Kunaki until I doubled the amount of video I was selling (takes up 2 DVDs) ... and they only sell 1 DVD at a time (no double packs or whatever, at least last time I checked) .... that's why I moved on to digital downloads.
