Article Marketers: Running Out of Ideas for Articles?

Right at your fingertips is a WEALTH of great ideas, and you don't even have to leave your house to get them.

Go to your preferred search engine and type in the broad name of your niche, followed by the word "magazines". Poof - dozens, hundreds, thousands of magazine websites packed with articles on topics galore!

Examples:

women's magazines
fitness magazines
bodybuilding magazines
men's magazines
pet magazines
dog magazines
cat magazines
equestrian magazines (or plain old horse magazines)
golf magazines
business magazines
diet magazines
health magazines
senior magazines
(any niche) magazines

If it's a popular niche, there's got to be at least one magazine about it.

Even better than all of the idea inspiration, you'll be studying some of the BEST headline writers in the country. Notice how their headlines make you want to click to read more. Why? Study them and figure out the secrets, and then use the same techniques in your own articles and email series.

Obviously, don't be stupid and plagiarize the articles and headlines - but start keeping a "swipe file" of the headlines and subject matter you find, purely for inspiration and ideas.

See if you can improve on the ideas by making them keyword friendly too! Many of the magazine articles are not written with SEO in mind - their main purpose is to grab the reader's attention and get them to buy the magazine (or click to read it on the website). But if you take a good headline and find a compatible keyword that has decent search volume, you'll have the best of both worlds.

Now get writing!

    I love the website magazines.com

It is amazing what magazines there are out there. At the time of writing this post 'Good Housekeeping' was number 6 on the list of most popular titles.

The stay at home housewife would be a great niche to target.

Another idea: subscribe to as many ezines / lists from your competitors. You will NEVER run out of ideas, especially in the more competitive, content-rich niches (think relationships, personal development, health niches, wedding stuff, etc.).

Another idea 2.0: Run your favorite keyword software or research tool and come up with a HUGE list of keywords.

Then use your copy of Dragon Naturally Speaking (or the one already built into your computer, try doing a search under "speech recognition") and start talking about that keyword and/or topic. You can edit later. Just talk until you've got yourself 400 to 1000 words. Bingo, you just spoke yourself one or two articles, probably in under 15 minutes.

After awhile it becomes second nature and you'll find yourself writing articles while in public. Yeah, I get weird stares all the time.........

I subscribe to Google Alerts for certain keywords that I am asked to write month after month. It gives me the latest news and I can read what others are writing. Although, it is weird when my own writing pops up.
