Success = Market Unto Others AS You'd Have Them Market Unto YOU
I'm not a religious person; I consider myself spiritual, by nature and teachings. So, I'm not trying to apply the Biblical term to Marketing with some alternative agenda to recruit anyone into some biased religion.
Its much deeper than that.
Just like many seem to get the Biblical terminology wrong by interpreting..
- Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you
as
- Do unto others as they've done unto you
or
- Do unto others as you see fit and expect to be done unto differently
... seems to me that many a Warrior gets the Marketing version of this mantra wrong, as well.
Like for instance... getting upset and coming to the forum to rant about being Marketed to while participating in other threads about how to Market.
Does that make sense to you? If it does... meaning, if you don't see anything wrong with that mentality.. then do all of us real Warriors a favor and just leave, right now. --> There's the door.
Yet, if you can open your mind enough to hear/read the message I'm trying to convey here... please stick around and learn it.
You'll only find the success you're seeking IF you Market to your Prospects and Customers as you'd have them Market to you. This is because we're human and deep within our subconscious minds we need to be able to validate and justify our own actions.
If you can't validate and justify your own actions then you put yourself in a psychological position of self destruction. Whether it takes you decades or minutes; you'll eventually sabotage your entire business existence. Its just how we're hard wired as humans.
Now, don't skew this into something its not!
I'm not sitting on a soapbox here preaching about how to be righteous. See, IF you don't mind being scammed, mislead, negatively manipulated or any other negatively slanted action being done against YOU, then by all means... Market to your Prospects and Customers in this fashion.
BUT, if by chance you don't want to have any of the above done to you; (and I have faith that the majority of Warriors DON'T); then DO NOT fall into any of the traps that you see (or don't see -- yeah, that's the hard one) out here trying to make that first/quick buck.
Remember, self preservation is a wonderful thing until it comes at the expense of someone's well being.
