Anyone using Google Books to promote your books?
Google Books claims to offer a free service where you can promote your books. I just went through a lengthy sign-up - took forever to read the Policy, which is enough to make me change my mind. Not just because of the length and all those huge blocks of text, but because of some of the content.
It sounds like this service expects to be able to show exerpts from your book - as many pages as they want (they don't tell you what the limits are - I don't think. As I said, the terms were tiring). My concern is that if too many pages are shown, what's the point of anyone buying the book?
It also sounds like each book listing comes complete with Adsense ads displayed along with it. This would tend to distract people from your book if they see an interesting ad.
Does anyone use this service, and if so, how does it work for you? Anything specific I should know?
