There are various methods to start making money online... Now since you are ste just starting out, I would suggest that you use free methods such as article marketing to make some start up cash. This can be done without any out of pocket money so everything will be profit and then you can ramp things up from there.

Remember you need to have patience and take your time. IM is not a get rich quick thing so you need to spend some time learning so that you don't make huge mistakes like people before you. I suggest you use the search function and look for article marketing tips and you will be well on your way.

Do you have any technical skills such as graphic design or programming? Also do you have a money making route in mind? Do you like affiliate products, adsense, etc? This is crucial to know since there are many ways of making money online and we don't have enough hours in the day to discuss them all:p.

This may sound kind of cliche`, but read the forum for several hours. Join the war room. In there, you'll find A TON of free info for you to absorb.

But if you're asking for names of people to learn from. Well...

        Frank Kern
        Jonny Andrews
        John Reese
        Yanik Silver
        Brian Johnson

Those are some blogs you should subscribe too.

My first product I bought and actually made money with was the Money Siphon System. Most everyone here on the forum knows about that product. But I still use it and reference it on a regular basis.

        Good luck and welcome.

        Peace,

        Shane

No i dont really have any graphic design or programming skills. Well i 've read how affiliate marketing works and i really liked the idea of selling someone else's product and get a commission. Google adsense, adwords PPC etc.. thats my problem , i dont really know how to use these. I know how to find a good niche and create a product , how autoresponders work and how to build a website. I'm afraid to start because i dont know how to use the applications i told you above and how to bring traffic to my website..I dont want to spend 5-6 hours a day writing and get zero results.

Hey man, I feel your pains and understand. Your in a good place because your at a starting point. As yesacpow mentioned earlier, it's not a get rich quick scheme. It takes time and their is a learning curve.

My advice would be to take a bit of time away from the computer and really think about what you want out of your internet business.

You can focus on creating and selling products.
          Becoming a ProBlogger.
          Affiliate Marketing.
          etc...

You need to find what you want and then step forward and make moves.

Find out what your passions are and see if their is a market in that niche.

Like riding mountain bikes? Set up a blog about your rides, show pics of yourself and trails you go on. Become a fanatic and blog consistently. Look for affiliate offers around that product by searching google or offervault.com Put them up on your blog. Build a list of followers. You can offer advertising to bike companies, energy drinks and related niches. You can offer to review their products to a hungry market that watches, reads, or listens at your site. You can set up a podcast on itunes.

The options are limitless mate. Just don't get lost in it all. Pick something, stick to it, and chunk it down into action steps.

Don't say: Setup mountain bike blog this week. Say 1)Buy domain 2) Get hosting 3) Setup blog from woothemes 4) setup autoresponder 5) think of first 10 post to write. 6) write first post 7) find affiliate networks and companies to work with 8) find related forums and blogs to build relationships with...etc....

That's chunking it down to doable steps. Focus on each little step. Learn from your mistakes. Keep moving forward. Expect stumbling blocks and push through them and you WILL succeed.

Once you free yourself of the fear of "spending 5-6 hours a day writing and get zero results." that's when you will start making money. Why you ask? About 5 years ago when I started on all this I had that exact same fear and guess what happened? I spent all my time questioning myself and methods that I never got anything done. It's better to fail then do nothing at all. As for the route you should take I would go with article marketing because its very newbie friendly and it is a good entry point into what affiliate marketing is about. Later on you could incorporate list building into it as you get more experienced.

The basic way of doing it is:
          1) Pick a product that is popular and has a desperate base such as weight loss, yeast infection, etc
          2) Do some keyword research and get a good solid domain then write about your product. Be informative and don't over hype
          3) Write 5-10 articles per day and point them back to your site
          4) Once Ezinearticles accepts your article then spread your articles to other article directories like articlecity.

This is how I did it many years ago and I assume not much has changed since then with article marketing. I'm sure other posters can add to my mini list if I missed something.

  • Hey,

I'm a newbie too and I've spent most of my time researching and reading the forums here. I'm in the process of doing "The 30 Day Challenge" which is completely free and takes you through all the basics you might need.

Also, try taking a look at Chris Farrell's free videos on setting up aweber/clickbank/squeeze pages etc - again just google him!

You're in the right place to start the balling rolling, that's for sure!

    Hey Omonoiavas:

You are moving in the right direction. I am in the same boat as you are, but I have an advantage to go through a training course by Alex Jeffrey, who's a reknowned Guru in this field. As I am writing this response, I am also enrolled in his online workshop for Profit Pulling Platform, and getting a complete paradigm shift towards discovering the fact(s) on how should we start an online money making business.
Meantime, I have decided to start sharing my learning curve through video tutorials through my blog, and I am calling it newbies learning curve. You may also find them helpful.

I suggest the following to you.

    - Start a blog, and you can install it through Word Press through C-Panel

    - Install Google Analytics Script into your website to monitor your traffic and focus on the areas from where the traffic is coming

    - Select a niche area to become an affiliate marketer of different products/services

    - Eventually create your own product

Bottom line is to start building list through the traffic of your blog
Once the list building process is stream lined, you need to further build relationship with your subscribers and then offer them products, which converts it into Dollars.

I know it sounds too general, but you have to practice patience for quite sometime, and your own blog is imperative to engage yourself with like minded people. Your objective should be to build relation with your subscribers, which would automatilly reslut into profitability.

Please feel free to write to me or send me a Personal Message, if you want to learn more about my on-going experience.

    Thanks & Regards
    Ali Jafri

Brandon, what a fantastic piece of advice. So many people new to the market get directed to the how to make money on the Internet sector. That is probably the worse thing to do if your new in the game.
Finding a niche that your already interested in is always going to be a much easier way to start.
    1. because you already have some knowledge.
    2. because its more fun to be involved in something that you enjoy.
    3. also you will appear sincere.

    Good advice.

      Andy Thanks,

I agree completely completely. The im niche is so competitive and so small in comparison with what people are truly passionate about. Your 3 points were spot on man!

      Have a great one,

        Hey man,

I was spinning my wheels as a IM newbie for two years before i made my first big money. So,here are 2 warnings and 2 action items i would suggest to
any close friend of mine who'd ask me where to start quickly.
warning 1: don't get involved in PPC - very tempting because it promises fast money but its too risky for a newbie and left many high and dry
warning 2: don't buy into the myths of any software that can make you rich,as
many will try to sell it - but software can only enhance your existing skills,
and while you don't have the skills yet, don't waste time and money on software.
action item 1: go to google, type in "The 30 Day Challenge",find and go though this course from A to Z - this one will give you all the basics for affiliate marketing and more!
action item 2:build 3 websites following "The 30 Day Challenge" to get your feet wet - chances are one of these 3 sites of yours will be successful.
it only takes earning your first $5 and then you'll scale up from there.

One more piece of warning - don't follow the gurus, cuz you'll break your neck turning your head to different concepts each one advocates and you'll most likely end up being totally de-focused and this is the recipe for failure.
Stay with one guru for at least 6 months instead and you'll succeed!

        Paul

It's just not going to be that easy. You are going to have to read the forum and other sources, find something that interests you that matches with your skills, learn how to do it and implement it ... do it ... until it makes money.

Creating the plan is your job. There's plenty of information available for you to decide what would be best for you. There are so many ways to make money online that no one can tell you how you should go about it.

I've heard of the 30-Day Challenge. Think it's free. A lot of people say it's a good place to start. I haven't tried it, so don't know, but it's probably worth a look.

I'm new too. Took the idea of doing some articles to start off for some cash which I can then build up on. I think I have both gathered some good articles I have then legally modified and also written up a couple so if anyone is interested in them and of course helping out someone new to the world of IMing then look out for my post in the forums

In my experience, it will take a while before you can absorb and understand the real concept of internet marketing and how to use it to earn money online.

It take time so don't be discouraged. The more you learn, the better you will become. You have to work your way up. My advice, don't take shortcut as it will only to ruin your internet marketing dream.

More important, if you have the courage to stick to the end, you will succeed! Never ever give up or you will fail.

Just my opinion Do whatever you like, you don't have to listen to me if you wish not to.
