Weird PayPal Stuff...

So I get e-mails, of course, whenever anyone buys my WSO.

...Today let's say I got xx sales. Well when I go to my PayPal account it's xx minus three sales.

Some of the e-mails I got confirming payment, from nearly 24 hours ago, aren't in my account at all.

(...So I'd get an e-mail, for example, like Bob Doe has paid you $17. Although there is no trace of Bob Doe's transaction anywhere in the PayPal inside area).

Is this normal? Any suggestions?

The symptoms sound like some people have found a way to get around your order system - finding a way to skip the payment step.

    Could that be it?

..or if someone refreshes your "thank you" page, will that trigger another "sale" email?

    Hey Neil!

Thanks for the reply but I don't think they skipped anything -- here's the e-mail I get from PayPal.

    Hello Zach Booker Inc,

You received a payment of $17.00 USD from Bob "Fake Name" Doe (e-mail@yahoo.com)
Thanks for using PayPal. You can now ship any items. To see all the transaction details, log in to your PayPal account.

Important note: Bob "Fake Name" DOe has provided an unconfirmed address. Please check the Transaction Details page for this payment to find out whether you will be covered by PayPal Seller Protection.

It may take a few moments for this transaction to appear in your account.

    Description Unit price Qty Amount
    Domain Flipping Theorem
    $17.00 USD 1 $17.00 USD
    Subtotal $17.00 USD
    Total $17.00 USD
So I'm near certain that everyone has paid - as a friend who I asked over Skype pointed out maybe it's e-checks but it's just a regular old transaction.

Really has be baffled as the majority of these came, like I said, nearly 24 hours ago. Never happened before to me either.

    Cheers,

    Zach

So you're getting notifications from PayPal itself for transactions that are not in your PayPal account?

Weird. I've *never* had that in 10 years online.

eChecks will appear as "uncleared" so that's not it.

    Cheers,

    Neil

I do know that sometimes transactions can take a little bit of time to appear in your account, but we're talking minutes, not hours.

It is from one of those fake paypal email addresses perhaps? The ones that contain the phishing links? If not...weird!
