Question about visitors keywords...

2 replies
I have Statcounter installed on my sites. One of the stats available shows you what keywords searchers used to end up on your site.

I hope this ain't somethin' asked over & over or glaringly obvious but can I take the keywords that they're using, and, if I haven't already, incorporate them into my pages? Some of them are close or related to my keywords but not exact.

Is this something that can help me?

Thanks in advance,

Mr. G

    Hello Mr.G;

    This is actually a good method for ranking under keywords that are in some way driving traffic to your sites. Focus on the related keywords to your site or particular niche, these will bring relevant targeted traffic rather than un-related traffic.

    Doing on site content SEO is definitely a good idea on these related keywords. When writing content and trying to make it give good SEO purposes, try to make your Keyword density in a post between 2-4%.

    Try not to over stuff it with keywords and instead of using just one keyword in the post, use the main keyword you are trying to rank for 2-4% and a secondary keyword you want to rank for only 1-2%.

    Using primary and secondary keywords you want 80% of that 2-4% your main keyword and 20% of that 2-4% your secondary keyword. Try making posts focused around the keyword you are writing for as it looks more natural and reader friendly.

    Hello Mr. G,

    Yes, incorporating those keywords will be a great idea. In fact, it's one of the well-known keyword strategy. You can even use some "typo" keywords if that's also something you see your visitors using.

    As I'm not SEO-savvy, I'm gonna leave the details to the pros in the forum..
