INTERNET MARKETING

I'm putting some thought into a new type of project for me, one
where I'll be actively trying to make it easy for people to "join" me
or "contact me".

I'm snatching up all the primaries such as:

twitter.com/mycompanyname
facebook.com/mycompanyname
linkedin/mycompanyname??
Youtube.com/mycompanyname

SKYPE
AOL
YAHOO
GMAIL

Anybody add to the list of stuff worth grabbing to protect it?

At the tail end of every book in my course, I have a chart with all of those, including MySpace....

if you follow overdrive interactive on facebook you get free (optin) access to their social media map and its really decked out with all the links and such... might be an idea.

Good start don't forget the 80/20 rule you may have 80 of what you need already for 20% of your time. As people give you more extensive list here, decide which ones are worth going after vs time invested in setting up etc... Unless you have a VA do 'em all, and cost to you is lower.

You should also lock up OpenID simply to prevent someone else from registering your brand.

Hey,

someone recently showed me (non-aff, non related) Check Username Availability at Multiple Social Networking Sites

QUOTE from their site -
"Check to see if your desired username or vanity url is still available at dozens of popular Social Networking and Social Bookmarking websites. Promote your brand consistently by registering a username that is still available on the majority of the most popular sites. Find the best username with namechk."

So it's a great way to find your urls in bulk. You can then simply have a VA go through and grab them all in case you ever want them.
