I can't keep doing this!!!

Over the past two months I have spent over 2000 dollars on various IM programs only to turn around and cancel them all. Too complicated for my newbie brain, no real actionable info...just fluff, and on and on it goes.

There has been so much activity with my credit card that CB AND PP have put my account on hold for a while!

I know that it's possible to make a good living online but...damn it's hard to find the right products and training...and I'm getting sick of it!

Just needed to rant...sorry...

    Hey Jeff,

I understand your frustration and trust me it's a common thing, when things aren't going right it's very easy to jump around to many different things. Trust me on this, it's not the best thing to do.

My personally recommendation is find 1 thing, study it, learn it, test it, test it more, test it more and more and more. Learn that 1 thing inside and out. You will eventually learn it and turn that around. Once you have mastered that 1 thing, then expand!

    I hope this helps!

I know you'll hear this a lot but STOP BUYING STUFF and FOCUS ON ONE THING. If you look at other threads in this forum you'll notice hundreds of people giving the same advice. Also take a look at the 30 Day Challenge (search forum for more info) and get started step by step daily following what they say to do. Hope that helps.

On one hand you say those courses were too complicated, then you say they were fluff. Which one were they? There is no "magic bullet" to making money online. You need to take action and implement some kind of plan. Find a market that has a need or a problem and supply that need or solve the problem. It all boils down to pretty much that.

The thing that worked for me was the 30 Day Challenge. They are changing it this year, but it's free and these guys know their onions.

Jeff, I am sorry to hear that. We all encounter a lot of money loss in the very beginning because of lack of knowledge. Before you throw the towel, I advise that you continue to read up and get as much information as you can. WF is the best forum to learn about all sorts of internet marketing options.

I usually recommend beginners to join affiliate and referral programs. You do not have to invest in having your own product and the only money you have to spend is whatever you invest in promotion. Most of the marketing tools like URLs, splash/squeeze pages, banners, etc will be given to you by the program. This will help you start earning a little bit of money until you have garnered enough information to embark on a different route.

Good luck... and always remember you can ask more questions for guidance.

I agree with DMP70. Enroll in the 30-day challenge. It will get you grounded and best of all it's free! Sometimes when you're a newbie it's tough to resist the offer for the "latest greatest program." I've bought stuff I've never used for the simple reason that I didn't want to "lose out." That fear of loss is a powerful motivator! But the truth is, there will always be "good stuff" available when you're ready for it. DON'T GIVE UP

Pick one program and stick with it no matter what!! I recommend Tellman Knudson's List Pros or Affiliate Blueprint 2.0. They teach you the basics and give you step by step to build a solid list and great business. They are genuine and real!! No fluff from Tellman or Mark Ling.

As for the info overload your suffering from we all go through it. Eventually if you just stick to it you will get it and it will become second nature and easy!

Don't give up! 90 % of people give up! Anything worth doing is going to be tough....at first!

    So to recap!

    Pick one IM course
    Stay focused
    Take it day by day

    Don't give up!

P.S. Ask warriors on here questions if you dont understand something. Everyones here to help you!

P.P.S. I see you ar a war room member, that should be all you need to get started! That place is a GOLDMINE!!! Get to work and stay focused on your dreams.

P.P.P.S. Remember, many have gotten to your point and given up forever never to realize their true potential. Don't be one of them!!!!

First step is to pick a niche aka product and just promote it using key words as a attraction to people and LSI is related right? Then convince people to buy it? But, I heard that even if they don't buy it but they click your affiliate link and go to the merchant store at the site when they scroll down to the bottom of the site that I would still get commission correct? Well the one thing I've learned which everyone is mentioning of course stick to one thing, but you also have be persistant and consistent, plus be very patient - you won't make money overnight - start off with small goals, don't expect to make thousands in a week, or even a month - not at first - it takes time to really build up your business, but it can work if keep pushing.

It really is very easy for newbies to get overwhelmed online. I struggled at first, but once I found a system that worked I just simply rinsed and repeated the system!

For me it was affiliate marketing, but for you it may be something else. There is no one "right" or "wrong" way to make money online, because you just have to find what appeals to you and then study it all the time.

I would suggest you get access to a membership website, as opposed to an ebook or something of that nature. Chris Farrell has an excellent program, so you may want to look him up.

  • I would echo "focus on one thing"

Build it to a business that makes you some money and then add other things.

I would suggest that making your own products is one of the best ways to go.

Hang in there, I know it can be tough.

    Hey Jeff,

Whats up bro... Yah it is tough, and will always be tough at first, the main thing is not to give up and just to focus and be consistent...

It took me 2 years to make over $100 a month...lol, but then that gave me motivation, soon it became $500, then over $1000, and now at the 4 year mark making over 100 grand a year.

I am starting this blog that can help people out, I will be teaching a lot of what I have learned and teach for free... cool huh.

    Check it out at www.AshtonWebb.com

So just to recap... never give up man... its tough, but once you start understanding more and more how to market (whatever) and profit online, it becomes easy.... seriously.

I feel ya and one of the problems that is being echoed here in picking one thing and sticking with it...well, first you need to know what your options are...not just any options, but your options personally. Ones that will work for you.

Sales letters can get the best of you because they sell you HOPE. It's not that their system does not work, it just may not work for you. Many so called systems are not SIMPLE to implement. Many of them leave HUGE gaps and instead of giving you everything they really promised in the original sales letter, they are just looking to sell you even more...well, that is how they make money on-line

It's not like someone gives you a friggin outline and says here, this is what IM consists, here are some sample ways you can make some real money now go forth and earn!

As a war room member, start there. Make a list of everything and everyway they share with you there on how you can make money. It will be overwhelming, but just start with making a list. That list will help identify things that actually work.

Make a list of what skills you have right now. Don't focus on what skills you don't have. Focus on the skills you have right now and what you have to offer right now.

Can you write? Can you research? Can you teach? etc.

Making money online is as personal as is having a JOB. It's specific to you, your skills, what you can offer an employer...but the internet opens up a whole new ballgame and marketplace for you.

What problems can you solve online? What problems can you solve for fellow marketers? What problems can you solve training animals? What information you have that others may be interested in...and even paying for.

Just trying to give you some ideas but really focus on what you can offer to help SOLVE a problem...helping others always allows the money to flow more freely.

Best of luck and put your CC away

Oh please...$2000 worth of products and they are ALL bad? Mate YOU are the one who doesnt work and takes no real action. Stop blaming the products. You are being lazy and thats why you are failing - end of story.

Well thats some good news. You dont need to buy anymore products.

Well stop blaming everyone else and follow one of those courses you have bought. Keep working straight for 3 months and if you have made some money then keep going, dont stop! This **** isnt easy and wont happen fast.

Stop ranting and start writing. Get a website out there selling something and start working towards getting traffic to it - its that simple.

Sorry if I have came across like a asshole but someone had to tell you. Just a quick point.

I think Jeff is talking about membership sites.

There is a certain prominent IMer who shall remain anonymous that strongly recommends structuring your membership sites in a specific way, where you don't deliver anything of real substance until you get the final payment.

I'm not going to say this is wrong, or that you shouldn't do this, or that it's some sort of ripoff. It's not. The entire point of his recommendation is that you really are going to deliver the goods, and the member really is going to get his money's worth. He's just not going to get it until you get all the money it's worth.

What I am going to say is that this is scarcity thinking. It's motivated by fear. If you refuse to deliver the goods until you get the last payment, the one and only reason you would do such a thing is that you're afraid you won't get all the payments. And as the coach, the teacher, the "guru," you are supposed to be above that.

The student, on the other hand, is not. He still has scarcity thinking because that is where almost everybody comes from when they start out. He should be expected to sit there thinking "I do not have any of the things I was promised" and being afraid that he will never get them. And if you force him to wait months and months before he gets anything, why is he going to keep paying you?

Every month, he thinks two things:

    1. Did I get my monthly payment's worth of info last month?
    2. Do I believe I will get my monthly payment's worth of info next month?

And if the answer to both of those questions is "no," he's going to cancel.

    Because he should.

Good sign that you can cancel and get back full refund.
If you are not ready, buy only one package at a time.
Those packages work, I am sure, but only to a small percentage of it, say 10%-20% for beginners
I guess the 2 main reasons that your purchases do not work on you are :
    (1) you did not purchase product based on your interest and knowledge, thus you are not able to present yourself as an 'expert' in the product you purchase, so it is difficult to convince others to buy your product in your blog (if you plan to market via blog)
    (2) most likely reason....they teach you all the strategies to earn easy money online, but you just do not have enough traffic to send to...you need to send to big enough traffic…. to be more specific, send to big enough ‘targeted’ traffic.....because sales is afterall a number game.....probably 1% of the targeted traffic is your success rate, for a beginner

However I found Marketing Makeover Generator(MMG) by Rick Raddatz and learnt how to use it I was getting quite proficient at it then the site has been hijacked by XIOSOFT who also appear to have kidnapped Rick Raddatz. The point is the new site is great but does not allow access. MMG are still taking the money but not allowing access? This is the second time it has happened to me. I am convinced that money can be made on the internet it is just taking me longer than I expected. By the way does anybody know how to contact XIOSOFT or Rick Raddatz?

      Been there, had that feeling.

Seriously, do not spend even 1 buck from now, sit down with a piece of paper and a pencil and write down what you want to do.

      Affiliate marketing?
      Blog?
      Launching your own products?
      Paid per Click programs?

      etc.

Then, when you do have an idea what is it exactly that you want to do, do a little Google research, to find out about competition. You can also search this forum for various guides for the stuff you pick.

I got completely overwhelmed and disheartened like you, but I really wanted to succeed online. I made myself give up the internet for 10 days - (apart from work related stuff). No forums, no emails, no nothing. During that 10 days I thought over all the stuff I had learned about in the previous months, and the things which had stuck in my head and made sense to me were what I came back to and followed up once I allowed myself back online. There is so much hype, but the quality stuff will stick with you - so go with that, and good luck.

It looks as though lots of people are recommending different things to Jeff here so he is in the same position as before - too much information and no direction to go in.

I started out by looking at all the different ways to make money online and picking one that I was interested in (blogging) and could do cost effectively whilst learning how to do it. I have since moved into other areas but finish each task first.

Other posters have hit the nail on the head - there is no magic bullet and you have to work hard at your business. It's the same offline with a business- if you don't learn the basics and then take action then nothing will happen.

So jeff look through this forum and find something you are interested in first then pick that option and follow it through step by step until you finish it - then see how much you have progressed.
