Open Office help needed

INTERNET MARKETING

I have a document created in Open Office which has some hyperlinks in it to web addresses. I want to convert it to a pdf but when I do this the hyperlinks in the pdf change so that they are prefixed by a location on my desktop and as a result they dont work. For example say I had a link to ebay.com in the document, when I convert to pdf, link changes to something like C:/users/steve/desktop/www.ebay.com

Any suggestions?

Do you have it set to hyperlink to the "Internet" vs. "Document"?

  If you have it set to Internet as Alan pointed out, you should find that as you type in a URL into your document, it should get http:// added at the front of the URL.

  Its set to internet and the links I want to link to are correct in the hyperlink properties (http:// in front). It is only after I convert it to pdf that C://users/steve/desktop puts itself in front of the http://

  Click on "Export PDF" then click on the "Links" tab. Mine is checked to "default" and my hyperlinks work when exported to PDF.
  
  If that doesn't work there is an OOo wiki with a lot of useful info and tips. You might find the answer there.
