Frank Kern Niche Markets!

Hey warriors, in the near future i would like to get into some other niche markets just basically build a list in a few niche markets, offer free report or whatever, then using email marketing every so often, offer them a product. Basically because im hearing theres alot of money to be made in these small niche markets.

Well i watched frank kern talking about his niche markets where hes making a killing with them. Does anyone know what these niche markets are?

I really am interested to find out.

Also one last question a bit of topic but, im interested to here what you think the best and powerful list buidling method there is, obviously i know about create a product and get loads of jvs, but apart from that method.

thanks

Not sure on Frank's markets... good luck finding that. Niches are guarded heavily, so you'd do better finding your own.

If you have a list already... you could do adswaps to build your list even further, or build a new list from scratch.

Jonny you must think "outside" the box. I know a lot of people will say go to the google keyword tool and start punching things in. I do NOT advocate such reckless research. You need to go to other places and start looking for a demand.

Take a look at this one site I found to help me out List your goals on 43 Things This is a site where people tell you what they want to do in life. For example take a look at "writing a book" 27,718 people want to do that. Now if you can put out some decent information on writing a book you can really reach this market! But look around at this site and other sites like it and you will run into a unique problem people are having or goal they want to achieve. Once you do that, That's where the money is my friend. The market will be empty or near empty. It will be yours to monopolize.

Be warned, though - dog training is already a HUGE niche - just like acne, **** berry, and so forth. If you don't feel you have a lot to offer here, you might just be spinning wheels trying to make it. But I could be wrong...

Frank mentions the Dog Training Niche way back in mass Control 1... I have yet to hear any other niche that he's worked in since other than MMO products that he's creating himself, or helping someone launch their own.

I know Frank has mentioned dog training and teaching your parrot to talk. His cousin Trey is involved in the guitar niche (at least for list control he was) and the hypnosis niche and a few others I can't think off from the top of my head.

Frank helped launch a product in the dating/seduction niche and also helped Tony Robbins do a Launch. He was also involved in helping David Wolfe with a launch in the rawfood/anti-aging market.

He also I think helped with the mind movies launch. And obviously he has done a few things IM. Stompernet,Magic Bullet, his own products and a couple more products.

    Much love,

I actually started some stuff in the how to play piano niche. I uploaded some free YouTube chord lessons, drove traffic to a blog, started a list and so forth, but never really spent too much time on it. If I can get my current get paid writing membership site going, I plan to optimize it more. I know learning to play music online is huge, especially with private lessons costing what they do, I just can't seem to spread myself seventeen different ways.

Hey Rikki, the piano niche is a very cool market indeed. There's a ton of potential because there are so many aspects to the piano and it's filled with lots of passionate people. What you did with uploading the chord lessons to youtube is exactly what Trey is doing in the guitar niche(seemed to be working well for him to). Being able to actually demonstrate something visually like that and then connecting the results to an affiliate product is a rockin strategy!

I completely hear the whole spreading ones self to thin thing. It took me quite awhile to finally decide I'm going to NOT do something. It's hard for a lot of us in this industry because we see so much potential and opportunity. But cutting back makes a huge difference in getting results.

By the way a great book indirectly related to the subject of spreading your self thin is called "Rework" by the guys at 37 Signals. You and other warriors should check it out. It can create a really powerful paradigm shift in your business goals and mindset that is exciting and liberating.

If you haven't seen him already, check out Shawn Cheek. This guy is a YouTube monster. He teaches piano on the net with video and visual aids and he's got an absolutely massive amount of followers.

He only gives away the first few bars in his videos and then directs people to his membership site to get the rest. I haven't a clue how much he makes but it must be decent.

There is definitely money to be made in music instruction if done right.

Cat juggling! Hah or atleast that is an example niche he always uses in his training.

I know he did some parrot training stuff - teach parrot to talk.

But seriously, if you are trying to pick a market bacause Frank Kern is doing it, you are going to fail.

No if, ands, or buts. Your mind is not in the right place.

You are focusing on 'How can I make a lot of money', and not 'what do I know that I am interested in that can also make me a lot of money?'

Sure dog training is a lucrative niche, which is why Frank is in it.

But I bet you didn't know Frank has a lot of knowledge with dog training - I believe one of his prior jobs was installing invisible dog fences and training the dogs to use them.

So it's not like one day Frank was like 'You know what? I am just going to pick some random market and make a lot of money from it...'

He was probably like 'man I know all this stuff about training dogs, and people obviously spend a lot of money on pets every year, so why not make some internet training program for it?'

Actually, I think that's *exactly* what he was like. He didn't create that dog product... it was outsourced and public domain work. It's not like he was an expert.

I don't think Frank has any niche sites now... I'm pretty sure I read or heard that some where from him... maybe he does. But I think he just sells "how to make money" stuff now.

Last report I saw about NEW search queries in Google was what? 30 Million NEW searches per year?

Why people keep hitting the same market/keywords when there's NEW markets and keywords to explore?

    Just some food for thought.

And no, I don't know which are Frank's niche markets.

Bingo....the evergreen niches are good for establishing a base income but the new niches are great for increasing that base income.

I think Steven Wagenheim releases a new product every 2-3 weeks that provides intel on this new niches that can be dominated fairly easily.

  • I VERY much doubt Frank makes now a days any effort into getting into niche markets. I'd be willing to bet that he currently makes his money off the IM niche and high-profile joint ventures with other internet large players (most of them also in the IM niche).

yeah im pretty sure frank is making massive money in these little niches. can someone just confirm this for me, i think im right but just want confirmation. Does he basically create a squeeze page offer the person a free report or whatever, get traffic to it (ppc), then while his list is building start doing email marketing to them, make money offering say some related clickbank product. Thats what he says he does but he does make it sound so easy.
Maybe it is to be honest ive never done it, but do want to enter small niches in the near future. the only thing thats stopping me is the traffic part. although i suppose if its a obscure niche i could get quite cheap PPC.

hey rikki, yeah the music niche is massive, that could a really good thing, a paid membership site for people wanting to learn the piano. not many people want some piano teacher coming into there house to learn them. my mam used to and she paid quite a bit for each session, so that could be very profitable, learn to play at their own pace. I was thinking about doing that, but i just remembered i cant play the piano. damn

Frank Kern ain't the perfect Internet Marketer. He's just a player who's been persistent at his Game. His celebrity status doesn't make him an IM God and it doesn't mean all the niches he chooses are perfect.

Stop admiring other people - u are suffering. Instead emulate them. Copy them. Learn from them. Don't think they are the best just because everyone says so. That's social conditioning.

He ain't the best... I know tons of other markets where I could literally dominate and pull in more money than he does. And I'm going too. Right now, I'm managing my school and IM. That's why I'm slow at it.

      Dude,
Completely SAGE advice. The more we put people on a special pedestal, the more we think it unlikely that we can do what they did. This type of mindset is killing a lot of people in ALL areas of life, not just IM.

Frank tends to concentrate in variants of the pet niche.

Trey tends to concentrate in variants of the music niche.

However, both of them also do some "outside the box" stuff for testing purposes.

    Hey Jonny,

OK, first off, I don't know what the markets that Frank is in are. However, I wanted to say that there are thousands, if not millions of markets out there that are ripe for us to cater to. There are so many people out there searching for so many topics, that it's still relatively straightforward to find micro niches and then provide that market with what it wants. I went to my local store and browsed the magazines and found things like
    • Kit Cars
    • Canal and riverboats
    • Yachting
    • Ubuntu User
    • Diecast Collector
There are loads of magazines out there for odd little niches, which means there must be a market for them.

On your second question: I personally think that doing Giveaway events and then doing Ad Swaps is the best way to build a list quickly and effectively.

    Hope that helps.

Frank used to work in the dog training niche before he sold it.

Honestly, nobody except people in his company will know what niches he is in. I, myself, would NEVER tell people which niche I am in to avoid people spying and checking my marketing tactics out...(and for privacy purposes)

Here's a video I uploaded not long ago about me going into a bookstore and start looking for new niche. You can do this too. All you need to do is go to your bookstore and look for the "For Dummies" books. If you're lazy, just use Amazon.com.

So true man. You shouldn't focus on what Frank Kern's markets/niches are but you should just follow your passion and then from there, look for a "problem" that people are getting into so you could provide continuous help and that way, increasing your followers down to your list.

Look onto yourself first and then imitate or model these gurus' strategies. That I think might be the most effective since I did it from experience.

It's not expensive if you are actually promoting to the list as it builds (via a pre-loaded autoresponder). You may pay $1 per opt-in, but if you average $2 per opt-in in income over the first week, then it's not nearly as big as an investment as it seems (and that's what it is - an investment). In my case, I initially just try to cover my ppc costs within 10 days.

yes, it pretty much is "that easy". I started doing that a few years ago, and still do it today. The only trick is getting a decently converting squeeze page that doesn't get google slapped. Don't make the mistake everyone seems to make, which is waiting until they build up a list of XX subscribers first before they try to market to them.

I would get some offers in front of them quickly, via a preloaded autoresponder.

These are hot leads, in the market RIGHT now for answers/solutions and out there searching. Those inclinced to buy are going to buy something soon -
if not from you, then from someone else. If you know of a product that will genuinely help them, then you are doing them a dis-service by NOT telling them about it (and the person who DID tell them about it will be rewarded with the sale). If you know something that will cure my acne, but wait a few weeks to tell me about it, you really are not doing me any great service by waiting to tell me about it.

Yes, send some decent content, but I would always include some sort of promotion with it as well, even if it's in the form of a ps at the bottom.

If they are extremely sensitive to promotions, do you really want them on your list? Are you going to cater to the one person who may never buy vs the 10 others who would buy, if given the chance?

since we are talking about frank kern and his niche businesses... I have Mass Control, and in one of the videos you can see his aweber account for his dog training lists for a split second. If you pause the video and look at it, you will see that those lists have a unsub rate of well over 50%. And if you read some of his older pdf newsletters about niche marketing (before he came out with MC), you will see that he was not afraid to promote to his 'niche lists' very heavily, right out of the gate.

My guess is the high promotion rates did three things for him:

      1 - Generated income

2 - Created a list of known buyers for him

      3 - Eliminated the non-buyers for him

Once he had the list of known buyers he could then focus on building a relationship with that smaller but moreporfitable list.

Frank goes by the name of Dean Rankin in the dog training niche. Google that name and you'll find his name. Last time I saw one of his sites they looked sooo 2005-ish. Not shiny but full of pictures of dogs and people training them do something.

Maybe the people above advising not to follow Frank's niches are right (but you could still milk those niches for yourself no doubt). But here's another way to look at your search - You might want to know what exact products (and their names) Frank sells so you could see how he does it. Please let us all know here if you come across any of his particular named products. All The Best...

I'm surprised more people aren't in the B2B niche. It's pretty nice and you rarely get dumbass customers that want a refund on a $10 product.

Relationships is also a vast niche. Sure there's competition, but the market is so vast that it's very easy to get traffic. Same goes for health. Money is also good - the competition is vast but thankfully most folk here are so knee deep in forex and loans they've neglected a lot of other juicy stuff.

The big niches are big for a reason. There is money to be made. I you can just get a small piece of the big pie that's all you need. As for other niches do your research just like the big boys. Amazon, Ebay etc. to find out what's selling.

I am pretty sure that there is ONE niche that Frank Kern is making a killing with. Guess what? Yes. It is the Internet marketing niche.

Most of his profits are coming from the products he sell and from his powerful mastermind group and list. The other niches that he has are just for sample's sake.

But don't take my word for it. It is just a wild guess.

The best and most powerful list building method? Well, that's easy. It's PPC. It can generate lots of leads into your page in a matter of time. However, it will cost you. If you can only do free methods, then forum posting and article marketing seems to be the most powerful ones.

ha, no i do agree but i also think that copying a successful person is gonna give you a good chance. im not saying im gonna go and get into every niche hes in. to be honest i just want to get on some of his lists to see how he treats his list, what he offer them for value, how he keeps a good relationship with them etc. I especially want to know when the best time to promote an offer to your list is and when to just give value

Frank Kern's secret niche = Cat Juggling!

I was going to say this but some guys got to it already.

But to anser your second question about ways to build a list.

Yes, offering a free report is great but what would make it even
better is to have an upsell after the optin page and add an affiliate
program to your site so your subscribers can promote your squeeze
page for a chunk of the sales of the upsell. Works like a treat.

The hard part is coming up with smoking offers that gets prospects/
affiliates excited to join and then promote.

    All the best!
