Micro Niche Finder Question re OCI

I just started using Micro Niche Finder. The last upgrade changed the SOC column to OCI. It also changed from just a red/yellow/green button to a percentage number.

This may be a silly question, but is the OCI % supposed to be high or low? So is a 75% OCI better (meaning less competition) than a keyword with a 25% OCI?

Thanks in advance for any help... want to make sure I'm using this tool correctly.

    According to the user manual for version 4, If the OCI is .5 or greater it shows strong commercial intent on the part of the searcher. Also, the SOC is available as one of the options that appears when you click on a search term.

      Yes SOC is still there as well as some new tools. It took me awhile to find it again too. Read the manual to get up to speed with all the features.

    Hi

    Yes the higher the OCI (Commercial Intentent) the more likely it is that you are looking at a paying keyword.

    You can experiment with this. If you put in weeding favors - one of the terms that comes up is 'affordable wedding favors' it has a rating of 94% - you can sort of figure it out that someone is looking to buy here!

    If you put in dogs in the search field and check out 'adopt dogs' it has a score of 24%.

    You can see from adopt dog that there is less commercial intent from this i.e. adoption doesn't seem as 'connected' with a buying decision as 'affordable' does - see my point.

    This is an incredibly useful too utilise when you are either putting together a keyword group for PPC or even for article marketing - the choice is yours!

    Thanks everyone! I thought the OCI factor was replacing the SOC one. Glad to hear the SOC is still available since I liked that feature. I glanced thru the manual but apparently missed the info on OCI, so thanks for all the responses!
