How do you even use Hubpages properly?

INTERNET MARKETING

They literally shut your site down in a few hours if you break any of their numerous rules.

I had only one link, and it was to my blog, and I still got shut down for being overly promotional.

I love hubpages, the moment you make a site there, it's usually on the first page of google, but they won't even let you link your blog, so you can't make any money.

I guess my question is, how do you link to your blog, and not get slapped on the hand within the hour.

Have you tried waiting before adding your link?

I've only built one hubpage, and had the same experience. I was going to revisit using them, so I'm curious as to what others experience has been as well...

I never had this experience but I write high-quality content. Maybe they just get to know the writers a bit.

Actually hub pages is quite convenience and flexible. Ehow is more strictly than Hub pages. And Ezine is much more strict than Ehow.

That why I prefer hub pages than Ehow or Ezine. Although Ezine giving you the high ranking in SEO.

There is lot of web 2.0 you can try on, the article base or squidoo also not bad. Just give it a tried. Good luck.

The key is to write a few totally original massive traffic MFA type articles first. No outbound links. Build some traffic, get some followers. Remember Hubpages is a COMMUNITY. Give more than you take. I know I mark down promotional rubbish I find, and so do my fellow Hubbers - it keeps the site clean for the best article writers on there.

Most of the best Hubbers do it for the AdSense and Amazon/eBay revenue. Good Hubs easily pull in $10 or more a month.

Once your Hubscore is over 80 you can tend to write one ClickBanky article for every 10 others.

FYI you can get a Hubscore of 90 with less than 10 Hubs - it's much harder to do so that well with such few Squidoo lenses.

I've never had problems linking to other sites but I suspect that Hubpages knows if you're linking to a bad neighborhood. Hubpages is an article writer's dream if you're linking to your other high quality sites.
