New ecommerce site assistance

INTERNET MARKETING

I was recently approached by a friend to help him build a e-commerce website for his trading card offline business.

MY question is what shopping card would you suggest using to create a quick website? I played around with ZenCart in the past but Iam wondering if there is something simpler to use.

Also do you have any opinions on Yahoo store paypal stores?

What kind of things should I look for it? I know I need a merchant account and SSL certificate (??) any other thing?

He also offer to pay me for my efforts but I am not sure how much to charge. I would appreciate any comments on compensation for creating a e commerce site and an auto responder campaign.
