Video Sitemap With EVP Easy Video Player?

Can anyone point me in a good direction on where to learn how to make a video sitemap with EVP? Has anyone done it?

Would be awesome to see this ability built into the player (hint).

Thanks Josh, I tried the generator recommended by your support but it has been making an error in decrypting the video location that results in a parsing error in my sitemap.

      Here;
      EZS3 Video Sitemap Builder

I'll keep my eyes open for sure.

        hi Josh,

i too am interested in making video sitemap for videos that is using easyvideo player. any ideas when these could be in built in the player or with any video sitemap plugin?

in the mean time, could you come up with a video on how to do a video sitemap and which code to cut and paste into the video.xml or sitemap.xml.

        regards

The problem is in decoding the videos location from S-3 server. Knowing how to make a video sitemap won't help you in this case.

            Hi Christian,

            i found this site,
            Tools | Dave Wooding

it looks similar to the site you were recommended to, but this has a video that shows how to identify the location of the video from S-3.

i am a newbie. if the above mentioned info is useful could you help me on how to make it work?

            regards

Why dont you just follow the google instructions on how to manually make a video site map? Google even provides a template for you to use.

I looked at the tools on that davewooding.com, and they seemed too confusing to use.

Making the sitemap is not the issue, decoding the videos location is. EVP encodes the videos location and you need a custom script to decode the location.

Hi Dave, I tried your setup but I ended up getting a parsing error. You can see it here Tinnitis. As you can see the error is in the video location string.

I left a comment on your blog about it. I also tried getting a hold of you via whois and your registration email. It's getting late but I'll give it another go tomorrow.

If it worked for ayadurrah I should be able to get it figured out.

This is from another comment I left... Any solution for this issue yet?
I have a question what do I put in the video location field if my video resides in the feature.php section with my flex squeeze WP theme?
This feature appears above every blog post so the same video appears on every post/url.

    Your Reply;
    Christian,
    Good question.
I suggest that you not rotate anything through the feature.php section, provide the video sitemap with any page or post that has the video, submit the video sitemap.
Once Google has indexed your sitemap, then rotate additional items through the feature.php section.
    Anyone else have a suggestion?
    Dave

BTW thank you for the script I'd love to make it work.

Hi Christian, i had the same problem with you. i got that error message too.

My guess is you copied directly Dave's code. pasted it on notepad right?

you will notice there are extra - on the codes at the extreme left of the codes from dave.

These - were not supposed to be there. look at the sitemap codes at Creating a Video Sitemap - Webmaster Tools Help

you will notice that there is no - on the codes given by google.
you delete the - from the codes given by dave.
and the problem should go away.

      thats what i did.

      regards

ayadurrah did bucket explorer decode the location for you? I seem unable to decode properly using Daves custom script. Was this the issue you had also?

      Hi Christian,
Yup, i managed to get the explorer location using bucket explorer. i tried using s3fox, but could not make it work on my laptop. :-(

after i manage to get the location of video on amazon s3 then its just a matter of placing the correct values in dave's sitemap video.xml
i literally just copied his video.xml and placed my own title, description, tags, duration and location of thumbnail

submit to google webmaster and its done.

      regards

Seems to work now Dave thank you for the help. I'm excited to see how it looks when Google picks it up.

I am using the video in my feature.php and specified the location of the video as my home page. Not sure it will work correctly this way but I have my entire site set up with the video in my feature.php. I'll see if it displays in the serps this way and report back.

      Hi Christian

I have been following the discussion in this thread and I just want to ask if you have an actual evp video that have been indexed by google and now appears in the video search results? If you do can you provide a link for us to take a peek?

Even from Dave's side, most of the videos in his sitemap are not showing in the search results so I don't know if everything works or I might have done something wrong.

My sitemap is same as the one on Dave's site ( I don't have any parsing error but I am just concern as I have not found one video from his site that is on the video search results for Google.

      Thanks

If anyone has problem with video sitemaps using popular content-delivery hosts and/or players, feel free to pm/email me. A1 Sitemap Generator should support creating video sitemaps automatically (i.e. not requiring any manual work) of most websites...

But for places that require special video URL "decoding", I need to add some extra code for the player/content-delivery-host combination + a website to test against

Quick note for people reading. You have to use the video sitemap presets in A1SG to create video sitemaps. (I sometimes get error reports from people who did not see that. The video presets enables various options like video file-extensions/mime-types, but also adds checking for links in Javascript which many videos depend on.)

If I search site:mysitedotcom the blog posts that contain the videos have been indexed, but if I click on the Video Tab, google returns:

In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 0 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included.
If I click on the Omitted Results link all the videos that webmaster tools reports indexed appear.

Does anyone know why google would do this or if it's normal?

The videos are all unique and never been uploaded any other place.

EVP 2.0 has just been released Free upgrade for exiting customers...Just had a wee perusal and video site mapping is one of the new tools. There are quite a few changes elsewhere on it also. I almost jumped for 'joy' with what I saw... Yay
