Question about misspelled words

I was recently doing a keyword search using Google
Adwords keyword search tool.

When the results came back it was showing plenty
of suggested words and phrases and the words
returned as most used to search my topic were misspelled.

I did the search several times checking my spelling to be sure
I didn't make a mistake all with the same results.

This started me thinking if that many people misspell this
word should I misspell it in my article?

Any advice on this would be appreciated....

Jim

    Honestly.
I misspell words deliberately all of the time, but only once per article, because Google is smart and they'll offer a spelling revisions (Did You Mean: Monkey... instead of Munkey) so a lot of people will end up searching for the version spelled correctly. Hope that helps!

If you see a misspelled word and it gets a lot of hits, I would go for that keyword. Chances are that most marketers have over looked it.

I think using misspelled keywords can work great. However, when I see misspelled words and lack of grammar in an article, the author loses credibility with me. Especially since there are spellchecker and grammar tools readily available.

For writing I never use misspelled words as part of the regular content. It's unprofessional. Google will just show the correct spelling results anyhow. You might piggyback on the domain that has a misspelled word in it though, that could be profitable. I agree with the PPC terms as well. But NOT in content.

While I agree that misspelled keywords can be an absolute goldmine for PPC, do you actually want to deliberately misspell words in articles that you write? What does that do to your credibility, especially among the majority of people who do know how to spell and will only see your misspelling as a lack of knowledge or education.

I'm not sure I know the answer to this but it's a question worth pursuing.

I want to thank all of you who have left your comments.

I to feel it would be unprofessional to use misspelled words
I just found it kind of strange that it would come up so frequently
in search results. When I see a misspelled word with a high ranking
    it makes me wonder.

So I thought I would get the opinions of others on the matter.

    Thanks

    The search engines know.

Only difference is - you end up looking like an idiot.

In the past it would work, but SEs are getting so smart these days. Personally, I would stick with the correct spelling for the simple fact that you have more chance of appearing like an expert in the field.

Every day I check the obituaries. If I don't see my name there, then I know it's going to be a good day!

Pardon if this has already been stated.

I think think the mispelled word thing. (misspelling intended) is a great avenue. But, but recently looking at using some misspelled keywords for a website I did the search on google for that particular keyword and found that google didn't even suggest the correct spelling, they just showed me the correct spelling results. So enter with caution on putting too much effort into the misspelled keywords and do some leg-work first to make sure google won't just give them the correct spelling results anyway.

Don't know much other than that.
