Simplest Way To Create Your Own Product

Wanting to create your own product but not having a clue what to do or where to go, or if you suffer from writers block or even just in need of some inspiration, I find the following works for me.

I make out a list of what books I am most attracted to, hobbies I do or want to do, new skills I am interested in learning etc. I then go to Amazon.com and get as much information as I can relating to items on my list.

I read the tables of contents of the books which give me ideas for articles, I read the index if given for keyword research and then read customer reviews both good and bad to see where I can add value taking on board any points raised in the comments.

I then go to forums or discussion groups and see where peoples key concerns, problems and pet hates are and add these to my list.

Bingo I have something to work with. After some research, I can then generate a short report or ebook and target the very audience who will be interested in my solution to their problems.

In a nutshell this is it. Things really don't have to be too complicated. Here to help. Orla

I like how you say "I make out a list of what books I am most attracted to..." because often the usual "advice" is do this or do that without much regard for ones talents and inclinations.

It is hard for me to be an "expert", or even a knowledgeable writer, if my heart isn't in my topic/expertise somewhere. An important connection I had not realized until I read your post.

Your other ideas are good as well.

Another great way to make your own product is to come up with something other then an ebook. For the love of god, "product" does not equal "ebook".

Let me add to what Joshua started--> This may just be a pet peeve of mine but I know I learn better when I have graphical representations of what I'm reading so be sure to include images, charts, graphs etc that reinforce the topics in your book.

<sidebar> I could never understand why most reference books didn't include diagrams, photos etc with their explanations. A simple diagram goes along way when explaining many subjects</sidebar>

Also you can add video to a PDF e-book or separately as a bonus and increase the perceived value of the book.
