An Honest Question from One Who Wants to Know

I hope I have chosen the correct area of this great forum to voice this question:
I love the idea of promoting products as an affiliate. I love Clickbank. What I want to know from you more seasoned marketers, "Do you, or do you know of someone who is making good money from promoting an affiliate product that is posted on Clickbank? I need some serious encouragement, because I have done the following:

1. My own domain
2. Blogger domains (several)
3. Ads on Google & Yahoo
4. Ezine articles
5. Ping the blogs
6. Post on Digg

I have had some success, but very little. I want to be very careful here, I am not complaining, I am seeking a light at the end of the tunnel. I love the whole concept and I am not giving up. I would love to hear from some of you who have scored and scored very big doing the affiliate thing via Clickbank. What route did you take.

Remember I should still be considered a newbie--even though I have been in these training pants a good long time. I don't have a list. It seems to be the Catch 22. You have to have a list to win and you can't win until you have a list.

I have invested in many, many products offered by those who know this market. But I always seem just an arm's throw short of making the grade. I have sold a total of $433 through my various Clickbank products. I start with one and promote the heck out of it and when the fish are not biting I change bait and keep on fishing.

We get up in the morning and we seem to be wrestling that great bear called Google. But that is not unique to me--all of you have that same challenge. Is there a more simple way that one can pay his entry fee, do the due diligence and reasonably expect a modest if not a very good success? Nearly every offer suggests $5000 or $10,000 or even greater rewards per month--I am over here thinking I would like to score with $500 month so that I can adjust my formula and do what is necessary to make more.

This may sound like sour grapes, but its really frustration. I want very much to earn a place among you good people. I salute this forum. It's one of the very best places on the Net. You people reach out to help people.

My purpose is to get a good discussion going on this so that perhaps we who are in the struggle will pick up the missing ingredient. We want to make it!

what im quickly discovering is that when it comes to clickbank it is far more profitable to create a product and become a vendor rather than promote a product as an affiliate. Have you considered doing some research and creating an information product of your own?

Yes, agreed! I am a seasoned affiliate and was happy not to have to do the email support and bla-bla-bla- but just recently I have decided to get a product going I know know loads about. It is MUCH more profitable but some take time to develop.

      Cheers,

Indeed, I have. Funny you should say that, because I have pondered this very thing.
The key is here somewhere and I have looked under the mat and under flower pot and the other obvious places. Perhaps I will find it today or tomorrow. Thanks for the reply and suggestion. I take it to heart. Have a good day.

I don't know any specifics of your marketing campaigns, but if it was for a saturated niche, you could have been lost in the crowd. Not to mention ranking for anything that has to do with "wealth, health, or love" is getting harder and harder.

The best success I've had is from promoting weird niches on clickbank and getting extremely low PPC clicks.

Thanks, Adam. I think you are right about the crowded arenas I have been promoting. Thanks for shouting over to me. Have a good one.
