Wachovia bank - Heads-up

You may remember that Wells Fargo bank bought Wachovia bank last year. Within the next few weeks, Wachovia customers will get new credit/debit cards from Wells Fargo. This is to be completed by the end of July.

If you are one of those Wachovia customers, or you have clients that are Wachovia customers, changes are coming. You may want to be proactive as possible to avoid any service interruptions and to make sure you get paid on time.

    I do all my banking with local banks and credit unions. I left big banks, and have no plans to return soon. This is a great time to be proactive and more your money elsewhere. I highly recommend Alliant Credit Union. Anyone can join, and it is really easy to bank with them. You can actually earn interest on your money. Every little bit helps.

    For business accounts, local banks are great because you have much more personalized service. You are not just a number. Just last week I had the Google Adsense check fail to clear because they resent with another check. My balance was in the negative as a result. There were no charges because I have a good standing with the bank, and they transferred money from another account to bring it back positive with a simple phone call that took 2 minutes.
