Would you refund this?

Just curious, would you refund the following/for the following reason?

I have a guide (blueprint, actually) which outlines exactly what you need to do to make a consistent monthly income from writing. You do need to do some work, but providing you do the work, you will see the results.

I received a refund request because essentially there was no 'magic bullet' to making the income, i.e., pushing a button and seeing $1-$2k deposited to your account 2 seconds later. (You need to actually do some work, but you will see results providing you put the time in).

The reason for the refund request was that the reader felt there was nothing "new" or "original" (actually it did have both, but I suppose perhaps if the reader has purchased a lot of products, and read a lot, maybe it was not new to him).

Would you refund this request? If so why? If not, why?

Thanks

- J

Yes. I guarantee "100% satisfaction"...and I always provide a refund if requested. To me it's more about "proper" customer service than anything else. And I'm likely to guess that it will take you a bunch LESS energy to just refund then deal with this person.

    Refund, move on, forget it.

If you offered a refund on the salespage then you need to honor it. The reason doesn't matter.

It can be frustrating but it's just a part of doing business.

If you would just have issued the refund, and spent the time it took to post this working on getting another sale...

Yes, just refund - forget it and move on.

Refunds are part of this business so don't even give it another thought and put your energies towards more positive pursuits.

How much is your time worth? In the time you have taken to start and monitor this post you could have already done what you will ultimately do anyway, which is issue a refund, and have moved on to something more profitable.

It just doesn't pay to obsess over one sale. The others commenting in this thread are correct. Your refund policy should be 100% unconditional no questions asked. Once you adopt that kind of policy you won't have to sweat over questions like this.

You'll be set free to pursue profitability despite the whims of the small percentage of buyers who will ask for a refund no matter what.

Just remember to incorporate that 1-5% loss into your bottom line.

I refund 100% no questions asked. If you offer a guarantee you have to honor no matter what the reason. I guess it depends what your refund policy is.

Honor the guarantee. I have purchased and returned products then later bought another product from the same person because they honored their guarantee and I trusted them.

I'd probably refund it. BTW I don't think I have really seen anything new in like a decade, so I doubt yours is that original. But if s/he REALLY believed there was simply a button to push, I would have to ask WHY! Did you imply it?

HECK, I would have provided email, like google, a decade ago, or even videos like youtube, but they are RESOURCE intensive and can be expensive over time. To see how they got funding, etc... is INCREDIBLE! And google is apparently wiring cities with high speed internet FOR FREE! And $96+ for a MOUSE CLICK!!!!! After such things, you wonder what really IS "too good to be true"!

FWIW, I don't think the OP was obsessing about the refund, simply asking for advice and opinions.

Yes ... I would. If he feels it was nothing new and original, it probably was nothing new or original to him and he is disappointed in the product.

Yes, I would issue the refund.

Analyze your refund rate, not individual refund requests. If your refund rate gets too high, then you can look to see if there is a common reason.

I guess it depends what you promised in the guarantee. I'd tend ti give them their money back and note the name. If you feel he's scamming, hint gently you're not foaming at the mouth waiting for his next purchase from you. Or just refund him and forget it

If the product in your sig is the one in question, nope, I wouldn't do it. The refund policy clearly says they have to put in the effort and apply the techniques. If they haven't done that yet, I'd tell them to take a hike until they do.
