Wordpress Plugins - What would make you more $ if you had it?

Yes, we've seen the several hundred posts asking what plugins you use for your wordpress blogs, but rarely does anyone ask this question.

What plugins would help you make more money from your sites? There are a ton of plugins, but many are no longer supported, broken, and incompatible with the latest versions of wordpress. I'm sure that almost everybody has been working on a site at some point and thought to themselves "I wish there was a plugin to do this...".

What are those ideas you come up with? What would make life easier? What would be just plain cool to have?

The sky's the limit, no idea is stupid or too outrageous. That doesn't mean it can all be done, but if it could, what would you do?

  • I would like a PlugIn that would :
    • take a http://Gutenberg.org eBook, in plain text format
    • rip the Gutenberg license from the beginning and from the end of the document (therefore, turning it into a public domain eBook - of course, for the ones that the license permit that)
    • fix the bad endings of each row, that many Gutenberg plain text eBook have
    • split the eBook into pages (about 1000 words per page)
    • make a separate post from each page

    Does anyone have a magic wand or do I have to write this PlugIn myself?
  • Interesting... I have a little tool on my Guru Gazette site that does something like that. I call it a page break tool and have been thinking about making it a plugin too. The Gutenberg part of things is an interesting twist.

  • I would like to see a plug in that does what Jon Leger's Instant Article Wizard does. Enter a keyword and the plug in brings in content so that you can put together articles quickly and easily, then have it a snap to post them at intervals you specify.

    Another nice touch would be to have the plugin spin the article just written into 3-5 different versions than automatically submit them to some article directories.

    Oh, and if the plugin could cut my lawn in the summer and shovel my driveway in the winter, that would be an added plus too.
  • Nothing like a little market research .. Not sure the answers are what the OP expected though...

    Personally I would love a real site that does not require plug-ins to make it great ... So could we make a plug-in that would delete other plug-ins ?

    • I would like that too. However, for me, such a site could be full of unwanted code, one that I will never use. That extra code usually makes the script bloated, harder to manage, might cost extra money and slower to load in the browser.


      I like the idea of a barebone, with the option of adding only what I need. I believe the problem is that some PlugIns are not very well written, cost too much or nobody cared to create them yet.
