Direct Linking - What's worked for me...

I know most people think direct linking to affiliate offers is a waste of time or that it doesn't work any more. From my own experience you can still make a profit with direct linking but the ROI in many cases aint that great.

I've shifted my focus these last few months, but I thought I'd post what was working best for me not long ago.

1. I only direct linked on Yahoo and MSN. I also screwed around a bit with third party search engines like 7 search, etc.

2. Matching the right offer to the right keyword was the most crucial thing to getting a campaign to work. My most profitable keywords on a regular basis where based on products from late night infomercials and normal daytime TV commercials.

The trick was matching up what was advertised on TV to a similar affiliate offer that was being sold at a lower price. The buyer mindset for both products HAD to match closely...

For example you couldn't just take something like zumba fitness and direct link to fatloss for idiots. That wouldn't really work well. Even though buyers of each product want to lose weight they each have pretty different beliefs and mindsets on how to actually lose weight.

Another interesting thing I noticed was every so often you would find other affiliate bidding on the same keywords. In many cases these where affiliates worth spying on and doing abit of reverse engineering on...If thats your thing of course.
