Hey

This is my first post

How are you guys doing?

My long term plan is to make a full time income from my blog where I write about something that I'm passionate about. I've already started working on that.

At the moment I work at a restaurant as a waiter, something that I do not enjoy. I've done some math and I could manage to get by on $800 a month.

Until I make a full time income from my blog, I would like to quit my job at the restaurant (I've saved up some money) and make a full time income from freelancing. I've never written for anyone before but I would gladly do it if I no longer had to spend 40 hours a week serving guests and 10 hours a week commuting.
Not only that, I'd also be able to create the habit of producing a lot of content every day, sharpen up my writing skill and also improve my english which isn't my mother tongue and all of these would help me with my long term plan (see above).
Working at the restaurant does nothing for me as far as blogging goes. Neither am I passionate about the restaurant business or about food. However, I do enjoy writing.

So, make enough money to get by on through freelancing while hustling with my blog with the time left over every day. In a nutshell, that's my plan.

What I wonder is: Where do I start? What websites can I go to in order to find 'jobs'? Any other advice that you could share with me?

Thanks

Post an ad in the warriors for hire section, put your services in your signature, check out Elance and odesk, and build your own site and client base. Hope that helps :-)

      Thanks for your reply ArticlePrince.

Is building my own site something that's necessary? Is there a lot of work that needs to put into it?

I don't mind the work, but I don't plan on doing this for a long period.

It's not necessary, but it will allow to market for better clients. How long of a period do you plan on?

However long it takes until I make at least $800 a month from my blog. With some hustling and no sleep it can't take that long.

          It's food for thought.

          Thanks

No idea what you just said.

                Apologies :-) I'll explain.

Find 100 keywords related to your blog. Write 1 article on each keyword. Post 5 articles to your blog each day, or 1 a day if you'd like. As each article is posted, resubmit it to Ezinearticles, goarticles, and articlebase. Once you get some money, get articlebot and use them to submit your articles to about 100 other directories (it takes 5 minutes, don't get scared). Offer some incentive to subscribe to your blog if you can. Put amazon links or adsense on your blog, and your done. At the end of the 100 articles, you should be easily making over $1000 monthly.

        Hi,

I just sent you a PM with an offer of setting up your site in exchange for article writing.

Pick any theme from iThemes or StudioPress or ElegantThemes. I have dev licenses for all these WordPress premium themes.

Welcome... waiting tables s*cks... tell me about it.

You can find freelance jobs at Guru.com, Rentacoder.com, Elance.com, Freelancer.com and maybe you can check out the warrior for hire section of this forum? I'm sure there are a lot of people here who need content and articles written.

I also suggest you to have a look at affiliate marketing and not only stick with freelancing jobs, just as a side income. You can combine writing with affiliate marketing as well.

I recommend having a look at The Challenge or www.thirtydaychallenge.com for free training on affiliate marketing.

Good luck. Hope you can escape that horrible job as fast as possible.

      Thanks for your help Katya.

I'll look into the challenge. I'll be making some affiliate income eventually through my blog, that together will freelancing will do. I don't want to divide my efforts too much.

I'll take a look at these websites and also go into the hire section of this forum.

I wouldn't do that unless you want to get banned.
Just take the time to leave replies. You can easily do that in one day.

Word of caution: don't get too addicted to this forum, you won't get much work done if you do. :p

I'm addicted already so if I leave now I'll suffer from withdrawal symptoms. I don't want that.

My suggestion is to master just 2 things...and you will do very well.

These 2 things will have have you steadilly increasing your income, without putting in more hours.

Putting in more hours to make more money can be, and often is, a trap for freelancers.

So getting sorted up front is a wise move.

O.k. here are the two things that will help you the most...

1: Produce more articles per hour.

2: Keep increasing your prices per article.

Nothing really magical about it really.

So the next question is, how do you go about it...?

Fortunatly a trusted Warrior Forum member has documented his staggering rise from a "nobody writer" to a writer that turns a few strokes of the keyboard into paying for a new sports car and new home...all under 3 years.

His first report shows you how to write a 400 word article in 7 minutes or less...including research and proof reading.

Next he shows you how to market your service so you get, and keep those high paying clients...yes they are out there, you just need to know where to look...He shows you where to look and what will attract them to you...even if English isn't your first language!

Anyway, do yourself a BIG favour and check out Jason's reports here...

Oh, it was a bad joke. Sometimes when someone goes to the bathroom they say "I'll go and do #1" which means they're going to go and pee. You can figure yourself out what #2 means.

If you're really considering to do freelance writing, you can try WF for hire section but there are also a lot of freelance sites around. The most popular I've found are Elance, oDesk and Guru.com. I must say, you will be competing with a lot of other writers there with low rates. The best you can offer would be your quality work with a high rate.

              Hope this helps.

I think the person that chose "What sucks about being a waiter" at least won't struggle with writers block.
