    First and Foremost,

CONGRATULATIONS and making your first sale.

Now, a little word of warning. Make sure your affiliate site isn't a thin
site with just reviews on it. Make sure there is content on it and the
    site is indexed by Google.

We all know about the Google slap and I don't want you to get hit. The
bot might not slap your site but a real person looking over it might. Just
as long as you're providing real value you'll be fine.

Some people get away with it for a while but it seems like Google eventually
    catches up.

Anyway, good luck and keep up the good work. I love adwords more than
anything but it is a pain in the arse a lot of the time. Nothing like the good ole'
days. However, it is a good thing in a way because you're forced to build a higher quality site which will only help you in the long run.

I don't think he could send it directly to his hop link. It would have to be be cloaked in some way.

I have one main domain name to which I can add any amount of sub-domains too. I create a sub-domain appropriate to my clickbank program and redirect anyone who clicks my sub-domain to my hoplink. e.g. I have a sub-domain called 'madeeazee' and add anything from weightloss.madeeazee to 'makingmoney.madeeazee'. It works a treat every time.

          That's what I thought.

But apparently that isn't true. Direct hoplinks into the ad.

          Weird.

            Hi Rob,

Yes, it is true.I never cloaked any affiliate link into my adwords campaign.Just pure long ugly link into the ads.Except for the display url,I just use the original website location.Just to displaying purpose only.

            =)

Wow -- congrats! I have had tons of page visits for my clickbank products and still have not yet had one sale. You must've done something right!!

Is there any sort of trick or something with clickbank? Like a way to chose the best products? I am thinking that possibly I have chosen bad ones--looks like you haven't!

I was doing this last month for a child anxiety site and I made a few sales, then Google got all pissy and started in on their whole bit about landing page quality, and I had to take the ad down.

Even after I deleted the campaign, they were still on me sending me emails about suspending my account unless I improve the quality of the landing page. How can I when it's not my site?

I wrote back and told them that and they said they "would look into it".

I hate Adwords with a passion. I'll never use them again. I could care less if they suspend my account to tell you the truth. They'll probably be doing me a favor.
I don't have any problem to do direct linking to my affiliate page. All my adwords campaign is using this techniqueirect linking. Once I read your post, I was really surprise. And I never thought that there will be problem with adwords if you do direct linking.

    Hi everyone,

I don't have any problems sending using my ads with affiliate links.I had 6+ campaigns in my adwords account and I just copy my affiliate link and insert it on my adwords ads.

All of them are affiliate link including clickbank and other affiliate programs. Is it against adwords policy? Is it wrong.I'm not sure about that. Those who have better experience in adwords should tell us more on this please.

My ads always shown by them.I don't cloak my affiliate link.Just pure long affiliate link in my ads.

If adwords approved my ads, thus I think it must not be any problems of using my affiliate link in my adwords ads.If it is against their rules, they should not approved them.
I heard that they(adwords) will review my ads before approved it.

    Just my 2 cents.

      Are you serious?

      I hardly believe it.

Direct linking with clickbank affiliate hoplinks?

Well, if that is what you are doing, I will be REAL surprised if it lasts.

      Regardless, congratulations!

Hey Rob, while I wouldn't do any direct linking on Google since I don't want to even take a chance risking my adwords account. I would direct link on yahoo and MSN any day of the week.

I posted a thread a few days ago on what was working for me in regards to direct linking if your interested...

    Hi Azim,

The videos a great reminder of how pissy many of us can
get over non existent issues, thank you.

As far as your progress ...

10% CTR from Adwords to LP.

Near 7% conversion ratio from a Clickbank product with no
presell, direct linking, non JV traffic.

    400% ROI.

Placing hoplinks in a target destination Adwords ad!!

(2006 was just on the phone, want's to know when you're
    coming back.)

Mind me asking what broad niche you're in that's getting you
a 7% conversion on direct linking via cold Adwords traffic to a
    Clickbank product?

If I was you, I would go buy a lottery ticket because your stars
    sure as hell aligned today.

I'm actually thinking of hiring you to come sit in my office
and let a little of that magic rub off.

    Nice work.

Regarding sending Adwords traffic through a hoplink...Google had a policy for a long time that they would allow one ad in the top spots to do just that. One and only one ad. Not sure how their algo figured it out, but the reason for one ad was so that affiliates for a given product could not own the first page.

It's important enough to be mentioned that sending traffic from Adwords straight to an affiliate offer through a hoplink is keyword dependent. Only one such ad per keyword, and perhaps some keywords have been disabled for that function.

I'm with Simon on the 2006 thing, those were the days that the practice would be tolerated...

I also got my first CB sale in the first 24 hours I ever ran an Adwords campaign. Spent $16.92 for a $17 commission. The long term outcome for that campaign turned negative...

Me too. It was registry software. 24 hours after I got the ads up.

Then, I went down the rabbit hole and got a hard case of info overload.

        Happens!

Campaign also went negative. Think I spent ~88 to earn ~70.

When I first started promoting products with adwords I was able to use my clickbank hoplinks too, but at some point they didn't allow it. I was totally confused and really hated having to start making landing pages. What I guess is that the ads are reviewed by robots unless some sort of red flag comes up. Then they are reviewed by humans. Haven't tried to use a hoplink in a while though. Would be nice if I could go back to doing that.
