Do I have what it takes?

Hi.

I´ve been away from this forum for some time since I´ve been burned out from IM, my mind was focused on it too much so one day I finally had enough. Too little payout, or money was being earned from my efforts.

So without doing anything, I still gets about 30 hops per day (clickbank) and a few sales here and there.

What would be the best option to increase my traffic without getting too much involved myself? (and getting burned out again)

Hiring someone to do the job for me seems like something that could be a good fit, is it relatively easy to find a part time assistant that I don´t have to hand hold and knows what to do? If I only knew how the traffic I got know was generated it would be a little easier to duplicate.

Do you think I have what it takes to grow my income without getting to much involved, the other option is to quit the IM game completely.

The only reason why I want to get back into the game is because of these clickbank sales that pops up here and there, it´s a motivator to get back into the game.
If I only knew a way to increase them without getting burned out. Everyone I´ve been in contact with says it´s easy to makes daily sales, and that makes it so much more frustrating when you can´t duplicate their success.

Any good tips on what my gameplan should be and who to hire?

Sincerely
Karl

    Welcome Back Karl,

Only you know and choose whether or not to be successful in IM or anything else. If you have a model of something that you have found works for you then take what you did and multiply it by the numbers (opt-ins, sales, etc) you want to see. If you're getting "hops" make sure you are building "lists"; if you're not, then you might want to reconsider doing so.

    Cheers,
    ileneg

That 4 hour work week book might be good to get you motivated.

But basically you need a formula that works and is simple enough to outsource.

    Hey Karl

Hiring someone to do the work for you will definitely relieve you from any stress.

Matter of fact it's not to expensive to even do that depending on what you want them to do for you.

I have outsourced a few times, and has worked out well for me.

But i am a hands on guy and don't trust to many people with my business so with that said if you do hire someone, just to some research on that person.

A great place to start is checking out the warrior for hire section of the forum.

If you can remember what you did in the past for advertising, i would definitely go back to doing that since it is already working for you.

I would just pump it up a little and keep at it at a consistent basis.

The reason you can't duplicate someone elses success is because that is there success not yours and who knows what there doing to have that success.

I recommend that whatever success you had in the past with clickbank keep at that method and you too will have that same success.

Do what worked for you. Everyone is different.

Just because Joe Shmoe is having success writing articles and making clickbank sales doesn't mean Jane Shmoe will have the same success.

Yes you can outsource these tasks but that does not mean you don't have to be all in mentally. You still need to treat it like a business in order to be successful.

Personally, I would concentrate more on finding out what works first. Until you have a formula that works, which you can duplicate, outsourcing the work will probably just be throwing money away unless you know exactly what you're doing.

Once you have a formula you can duplicate, outsourcing is a fantastic way to do it over-and-over again without you getting burnt out. That's what I use it for. But until you have the numbers down so you know that "for every $100 I spend on outsourced labor, I make $185 in sales, therefor this is profitable", I'd be very cautious about hiring anyone.

You're not very specific in terms of having what it takes to WHAT...

My personal opinion is, not many people make a ton of money doing internet marketing, however a "ton" is also relative. i know a lot of people that make in excess of a million dollars a year but not in internet marketing. I could be totally wrong and I hope I am (I'm also referring to people who are marketing products/services and not an actual retail site)

If your goal is to make $1,000 a month, you probably have what it takes. If your goal is to make $100,000 a month, you might not. Again, be specific and you can reverse engineer your way to the top eventually.

The 80/20 rule does not change in life. 20% will always earn 80% of the money and 20% of those earn 80% of THAT money too.

Whatever you decide to do, if you approach it with the mentality that doing business, online or offline, is easy you're going to be disappointed.

It's tough. And if you realise that and accept it, you'll be in a better frame of mind to tackle whatever needs to be done.

If you think you can just hand over everything to someone else and it'll be easy, think again.

The majority of people who make the big bucks and claim to do it on 4 hours a week are lying. It's a good way for them to take your money because everyone wants it easy.

One of my first business teachers, someone who is very well know online and charges an arm and a leg for his copywriting services, if he's ever free (and gets it), said he works 10 hours a day.

I worked up to 40 hours on the trot - without sleep - at times. 20 hours were regular for me.

My working principle to live by is this - if anything is worth doing, it's worth doing right.

    And that takes work.

If you carry on despite the hardships, you have a good chance of succeeding - as long as you do the right things.

If you give up, you fail. End of story.

    Hi Karl,

I know this may not be exactly what you want to hear, but I don't care what people say, this business is very hands on, specially in the beginning stages.

If you're really looking into growing your income fast. Sell services and put together a nice little team to handle the fulfillment of those services.

You may need to do the work yourself in the beginning, but in time you'll find the right people to delegate the tasks to.

Then eventually, you can up-sell or cross-sell those people you're selling services to, into a continuity program.

Continuity is key to maximizing your return on your work and marketing efforts, not overworking yourself, and having plenty of recurring income :-)
