I'm a newbie with a construction background. I understand the need to present myself in the most favorable light. Unfortunately grammar is not my strength. Are there any grammar check tools similar to spellcheck? I've got a feeling the answer is I should have paid more attention in English class. Thanks for the help.

    Do you use Mozilla Firefox?

It has its own built-in spellchecker.

Pretty cool and best of all, it runs in the background.

Write like your original post and you'll be fine.

Grammar checkers are no guarantee that what you've written "sounds" right when someone reads it.

In the past, although I've written my own stuff, I found it a great help to have a good copywriter review what I've written and suggest improvements. That costs a lot less than having them write it in the first place.

    Cheers,

I would recommend having or hiring someone who is good with English to proofread for you. I don't know much about grammar checkers, but it seems to me that, like any other tool, it's probably only as good as the person using it. I may be wrong on that, but in my opinion, the best way is to have a real human edit for you.

I agree with Neil just write in your own style and you will be fine. If you make your copy too salesy you won't come across as honest and authentic in my opinion.

Best of luck with your projects Mike!

Good advice, so far... but, what I remember my Critical Thinking professor teaching us was to take what you've written and read it out loud.

You'll be amazed at how much better your writing gets when you hear it read back to you.

Also one of the reasons speech recognition software is on the rise.

Reading it aloud to yourself is the easiest way to check. You could also have a friend read it over quickly let you know their thoughts.
