FaceBook Advertiser - Making His Quiet Fortune - Interesting!

Warriors,

I have now been tracking this FB - FaceBook {Ads} advertiser for more then 1 month. It seems he or she may be making some good money with FB ads. Just go to FB and type in... "Internet Marketing Ground Zero" into it's search engine. You will see how they are running their FB Landing page and with auto-responder. I have seen their FB ads on the right for over a month.

Could this be a sign that FB Ads can work?

I have also seen an FB ad with a close up pic of an ear of corn. It leads to CB - Clickbanks #1 Diet / Weight loss site with a video on the page. This too has been running there for at least a month.

I would love to hear your feedback on FB ads before I dare to give it another shot.

EDIT: I decided to edit this by saying that this is not my FB page and nor am I affiliated with it in anyway. I did fill out their form to see what I would get though in my email box. however, I have not read their send yet so I do not endorse this product until I know what is in it.

Thanks!

Stay Golden,

Warrior2008

Yes facebook ads works but the strategy is the hard part

Any advertising CAN work, otherwise is wouldn't continue to be there. The difficult part is in getting to profitable work... FB users aren't there to buy things, so the ads only work if it's something free or targeted. Unless you have a good program to learn it from, I'd save the money from advertising and spending it to build an app.

I did not have much success at first when I tried FB ads. I was sending people to landing pages outside of FB. What I found out is that FB pages work much better.

The main reason is that the barrier to entry is so small. People stay on FB, and all they have to do is click "Like", pretty easy. The only thing you really have to worry about is having an eye catching picture, and attractive ad copy.

Also, not sure what other people feel, but in my experience, trendy topics work the best on FB. It is hard to find people interested in something like an anxiety product, because your ads have to target things they use on their profile(keywords). But if you appeal to something like a celebrity or pop culture subject, then you are golden. People go nuts over these things! This also helps for your page to go viral. People will spread the word about something that appeals to the masses.

I have one page that I set up last week targeting a celebrity, and I have over 7,000 fans already. Haven't made much money on this one yet, but I will. This is better than a regular email list, and much more responsive. Now the key is to just be creative in your advertising. Use some simple email or zip submits that target your demographic, and find a way to relate it to the subject so it doesn't seem spammy.

This is what is working for me anyway. Would love to hear others ideas on this subject.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I spent about $70 on these 7,000 fans. Pretty cheap if you ask me. My goal is to get it up to about 10,000 at which point it becomes somewhat viral and will continue to grow on its own. Then you can stop advertising, and start focusing on monetizing.

Facebook Ads right now are like Google Ads back in 2003, but very few really understand how to use them yet. Think there might be an opportunity there? Anyway, Perry Marshall & Associates is all over this and just came out with Facebook FastTrack... Caught my attention.

You're quite welcome! And yes, FB ppc ads just might be at the tipping point of explosive, profitable growth.

Here's the problem that I have with facebook pages. If you are not trying to convert them to a PLATFORM THAT YOU OWN, there's not much difference between a G-gle slap and any facebook slaps that might come along one day....

Now, I'd be curious to hear from people sending people to a fan or group page then pushing them to opt in to a list - I think this can really work.

When you have YOUR OWN LIST that's your period....if facebook decides to close you down one day, you have the comfort of knowing you opted all those people in to your own list...

Anyone who has built up a loyal following to a site and had that site drop in rankings or hat a social networking account that for some odd reason got closes (I'm talking totally white hat activity here....) you NEVER, EVER EVER WANT TO BE RELIANT UPON SOME ELSE AGAIN - EVER!

Nice! Yeah, a while back I lost $200 real quick. Not sure but I heard you have to start your bids low then creep them up or else if you start high then go low it will affect them showing up. Is this true that you know of?

How do you get them to take a 0.07 - 0.11 ad?

    Cheers,

I definitely think you should be sending your ads to pages inside of Facebook. I haven't done tests on the different prices but I can't help but think Facebook would give preferential treatment and maybe preferential pricing to those ads that are keeping users inside of Facebook - it just makes sense.

Not only that, as another poster mentioned, Facebook cannot be treated like Adwords. People are not there searching for things like they are on Google. They are in a totally different frame of mind and you need to approach them differently.

Advertise your fan page and then use some type of optin on your fanpage to get those people on your list. Take advantage of the social proof and trust that facebook fan pages create.

Exactly. They're not on Facebook looking for solutions. Something else I heard recently struck a chord. Google is on record as saying that there's only one site that they fear, and it's Facebook. So yeah FB ads are a developing trend I plan to get in front of.

Not everything will work well on Facebook. Things that will work the best are social sort of niches, things like music, arts, games, etc, etc. Things people like to do, share, and talk about with their friends.

Some guys at clickbank will sell their product through PPC at quite a big loss. They reclaim this by the extra affiliates they pickup for having a big gravity score and some backend marketing. It can be hard to take those ads as indication the profit is stacked on the front end.

Hmm... I never thought of this. So it might be a great way to go if you own your own product? Again, does anyone know how to get a low bid to get seen. Wonder if it's like adwords and you get shown more the more clicks you get.

Re: "Hey, check this out http://perry-facebook.s3.amazonaws.c...scotinti_m.mp3 This guy, a festival promoter in Italy enticed over 300 people to show up at a local wine tasting event from facebook ads that cost him less than $250, what he calls a very restricted campaign that turned out to be quite profitable for his company"

"Your payment process just got easier! Through a strategic relationship with PayPal, we're able to simplify payments globally for advertisers purchasing Facebook Ads. In addition to the different credit cards that we accept, PayPal will be listed as another option for payment when you create your first ad. Or, if you're already advertising, login to the Funding Sources in your Ads Manager and add PayPal as a funding source.

Additionally, you now have the ability to schedule and manage your ads in your local time zone. Login to your Ad Account Settings and click on the "edit" link next to the current time zone."

Facebook can be a great way to send targeted traffic to your website thru the fan pages.
This is how I developed an audience and generated income before I ranked well in the search engines, and even today still is a solid and stable income for me.

I've done a little bit of advertising on the pages, but the best option I have found is finding someone on Fiverr.com that will blast your fan page out to their friends list. By inquiring about the demographics of the friends it was easy to have a fan page that would interest women blasted only to their female friends. $5 cost and nearly 3000 fans in a day was sent a sizable amount of traffic to one of my fashion sites.

In short, Facebook can be really killer if you can target by demographic whether it be male/female or age.

Great tips on F/B ads. I've been a bit hesitant to fire up a campaign because my impression has been that people on Facebook are really not in the mindset for searching for information and resources. They're searching for people and looking to interact for social reasons. Nevertheless, there's a huge amount of traffic there, so it's worth looking for ways to monetize it. So it's worth a shot, especially if Perry Marshall is recommending it as a traffic source.
