Where do you find people who will pay $25 per article? Just curious.

That's because those willing to pay that much to those who charge that much - and more - are professionals dealing with other professionals.

I've seen corporations pay that much and more. But not any individuals... yet.

Plenty of individuals will pay $25 (and much more) for articles. But these folks aren't looking for run-of-the-mill articles. They're looking for a writer who either has a background in the particular subject matter or has an above-average ability to research the topic.

In other words, people are willing to pay for well-written articles where the author demonstrates expertise in the subject.

That is rare. I had one person pay $20 for an article that he needed pretty quickly.

If you want to earn some money writing articles for others, then go to the freelancing sites and bid on people who want their articles written.
In , Scriptlance.com, you'll find some lower bids but probability of your bid getting chosen is high.
In, Elance.com, you'll find people who're willing to spend big bucks.
In fact, you could make a decent living out of becoming a freelance writer

The short answer is: You create them

Technically you can find them if you just put in the effort. Both online and offline, you'll find plenty of people/businesses that pay as much as $500-$1000+ for one article. Yes I'm serious. I've been paid that many times over so I'm speaking from experience here.

For general online article writing though, you usually have to "create" that level of buyer yourself. By offering such high quality writing, editing, researching, topic expertise and so on that your customers are almost willing to pay whatever you ask. It takes time and effort to get to that point but it's definitely doable.

      Yup,

Should be a very good article. I didn't know that people would pay this price for a single article!

If you want that sort of money your best bet is to write a high quality article. Then join up to associated content and put it on sale there.

Those who are pitching sales --- not sure though. The rates are going low nowadays. Many clients expect us to give them high quality content for a low cost.

  • I have been paid $350 for an article for one of the data houses providing content for MSN. This was way back in 2003.

During this period, I also submitted an article to Playboy magazine (US) because there was a call for freelance entries where the authors of the selected articles would be awarded $2,000 each. The fine print specified that the winning entries would be published online as well, which I guess meant Playboy's official website.

(They were kind enough to send me a letter apologizing for the non-selection of my submitted piece. )

So yes, $500-$1,000 for online work shouldn't be unimaginable.

From my experience I find people saying my prices are too low, and I start at $23 an article.

I earned 4 figures last week from new clients who all paid around $30 + an article, so whoever said prices are dropping is wrong. I haven't run a writing wso for a long time, so none of that money came through the wso.

The problem with writing online, is people get advice from the wrong people, and they buy into the myths that only cheap writing is sold.

I have written books recently for anything from $1800 - $2500 per book.

A lot of it is to do with how you run your business, where you should look for your clients. Hint, I could find any writer a client in less than 10 mins who would pay them a high rate of pay.

My first online article was written in 2001, and the company paid me with free membership to their site. That would cost me over $30 a month. That membership runs until 2104. Work out the rate paid for an article which was around 1800 words and took 3 hours to write.
