If you search best article directories there are numerous lists. My criteria is PR4 plus and less than 30,000 Alexa rating. There are about 10-20 in that list.

Off the top of my head Amazines, iSnare, Articles Dashboard.

Whenever possible use the highest PR site with the most traffic and dofollow links.

I like Squidoo because I see the links in my yahoo listed backlinks as PR6
Blogger is cool, I see the links showing.

You can also make your articles into pdf or doc files with a couple links in the content and send them to docstoc and scribd

then if you want you can read your article into an audio and submit it to podcast sites, even Apple.

if you are completely bonkers you can even get software that turns articles into videos and put them on video sites.

Putting out content all over the place with an eye to being where people who are interested in what you are about can find it is as important as the backlinks these places provide.


This is a little different than your question but I am getting good results with http://amplify.com - you clip stuff online, yours or other peoples stuff in your niche (which helps you look like the go to expert who has the handle on the best resources) , then comment it and give it a title. Every time I do that I get a good new link to the blog I have listed in my account. It can send your post as a bitly link with your title out to your twitter, facebook, tumblr, and others. It gets indexed in minutes literally, I have checked.

I wanted to ask, with PDF, say I've submitted one article somewhere, can I convert that SAME article to PDF, add it to scribd, without changing it and not get penalised for dupe content?

I usually submit the good quality articles to nowhere else but ... my own website. For average articles written specifically for link building i submit them to ezine and 15 - 20 good quality article directories.

Don't bother submitting to lots of directories, just pick one or two that produces maximum result and stick to it. I submit primarily to ezinearticles and articlesbase

i use isnare and Big Mike's ArticleBot. I also post to hubpages.

I usually submit and spin articles manually to EzineArticles, GoArticles and ArticlesDashboard and then use Big Mike's ArticleBot to automate my submission to about 80 other directories and then focus on marketing the articles on the manual submissions.
