Message board members posting with your signature?

Have any of you ever tried contacting very active members on popular forums and asking them to put a signature to your site for a commission in return?

I see that flyertalk.com has a lot of views for each post. Seeing that it is a travel forum and my product is travel, it would be perfect promotion. But its rules are such that you have to wait 90 days and make a certain number of posts before adding a signature. If anyone has a flyertalk account, please PM me.

So, your first post here is about wanting to purchase a signature line, from someone else's account, on an entirely different forum?

At least introduce yourself first, man

    P.s. I don't have a flyertalk account...but, looks like a decent forum...

Well, I'm a college student trying to make some money. So far making pocket change in the form of $150 per month from adsense. Seeing that there are very popular forums out there, albeit not related to seo, that can bring in loads of traffic, I'm wondering whether anyone else has attempted this.

$150/ month isn't a bad start with Adsense....

I've never really attempted that....but, it doesn't hurt to try....

Ever consider just making yourself an account, and building up your post count/credibility yourself, and then just using your own signature link?

Hit their forum hard for the first couple weeks with quality comments...may be more "worth it" than paying someone...

I would never sell my signature to a third-party. I value my reputation, and I am only going to link to something I believe in, rather than what I have been paid to do.

If you were to ask me to feature your affiliate link in my profile and I believed in the product, I would just register to that affiliate program and use my own link... That is always a much safer bet...

Doing Adsense for a living is a tough road. It is a really small amount of money for a lot of traffic. I would rather present my visitors with affiliate products than adsense, because if I do generate that sale, I would rather be paid $25 than 25 cents.

That having been said, (self-promote) take a look at the last link in my sig file for the Popular Marketers WSO. You may find it interesting.

I don't need to say how active I am here, my posts radiate awesome.

I'll lease out my signature for you at an ongoing rate of $50/day... deal?

Plus if you sold your sig space here you would be banned faster than you could say goodbye.

I wouldn't sell my signature to a 3rd party either. Work hard and spend more time on here!

i think it could work. form a bit of reputation that you're a legit member, and you can than maybe seek these members. They have nothing to lose and could earn some money, and doesn't effect their posting or anything. Not only that but have a website and it'll build up your backlinks if they agree to it

If I catch it, they won't have space to sell. They'll be nuked within seconds.

You only have 2 posts here and I'm guessing not too many on the other forum. Cool your jets and start building your own reputation first. Works wonders and pays long term dividends.
