Promotional Methods for an estore..

Hey guys, so I am working on a new website and it is going to be my first estore style business. However, I was thinking about promotional methods and I am not sure what methods I can use.

Obviously there is PPC...but that is all i can think of.

Like lets say i made an estore that sold contact lenses...how could i promote that site besides PPC? what free methods could I use? Article marketing wouldnt convert very well..neither would forum or blog marketing...

Do any of you guys run estores? What are the top 3 to 5 top methods you personally use?

If you guys could get back to me id be very grateful.

Gregg

Why wouldn't article marketing work? '7 ways to save money on quality contact lenses' As long as people are searching for something, you can give it to them with an article, then point them to your site. My only other thought would be CPA marketing to get their prescription size or create a free trial for monthly refilling contacts... just some ideas.

If you set it up in a wordpress site you get a number of benefits.

    1. SEO built in
    2. Automatic RSS
    3. Automatic pinging
    4. Use as CMS and incorporate a blog
    5. Social Book Mark

This is how I do it plus some more techniques but just doing this will get it recognized very quickly. Here is an example of one that I use this system with.

    PLR Resale Products And Services

I am doing this on with posts and categories but you can also do it with pages like this one.

Promotional Mugs and Glassware Straight from the Printer

Thanks for the answer quentin. So the method that you posted above..do you think that's enough to get enough initial traffic to test out the products? Will that provide any sustained traffic?
the reason im asking is because I want to do PPC with the pages as it seems like the most targeted method that I can think of at this time. but i don't have the money to support it..nor am i willing to use ppc to test whether or not the products convert well enough to warrant a ppc campaign.

    any ideas on this?

Article Marketing I think would really work - maybe 5-8 articles per day then submit then to article directories.
    Blog commenting on related niche
    Social Bookmarking
    Pinging
Social Media Sites - Tweet or through shout box to post your latest update about your product or your articles/content.

Weell of course don't forget video marketing. You can post the video to your site then also to youtube. =)

Hope all these could help you out.

If you mix it up with the article strategy from the others you have a simple marketing campaign that will do what you want.

    Exchanging post with other bloggers
Network with related business offline in your local area
Put up your ads as many classifieds as possible
SEO, article, blog, social bookmarking and yeah now video is getting more and more attention. Good luck!
