downloading, if it is

2 replies
Hello;

I bought a Mac a few months ago and am still getting used to its different ways. One way is downloading.

Like today: I downloaded a image sizing program (free) and when I push the icon for "downloading" I see the small screen that says "downloads." I watch it download. and then it stops. I mean it all just stops. I can watch this little screen as long as I want. If I click it I get code. I get no screen to select save or run or anything else. Nothing. No icons to run the program.

This has happened a number of times with different programs. I download it five or six times. No icon. No way to run it. Nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Jim

    What it sounds like you're looking at is the Downloads window. It just shows you what you've downloaded. The actual download will be somewhere on your hard drive, depending on your preferences.

    Does it finish downloading, or is it stopping partway through the download?

    If it finishes downloading, do you see a magnifying glass to the right of the filename? If so, click that. That'll show you in the Finder where the file has been downloaded.

    If it's not completing the download, then you have a different problem.
