I have been very happy with Jake's company. Check out his thread http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...g-75-week.html and the many reviews.

He is a little busy and sometimes it takes him a day or two to get back to you, but if you hire him, his employees are eager to make you happy. And remember, he is in the Philipines so make allowances for the time difference.

  • The agencies I've had most success with over the past few years are RentACoder and oDesk. That way, you have full choice over who you hire out of a number of candidates.

For specific jobs, I also use forums - for instance the 'Warriors For Hire' forum on this very site.

I have been using, and loving, oDesk for all of my outsourced tasks.

It depends on what you want though. oDesk can be used to put together a team of individuals, but if you want to just hand off a bunch of large projects to a firm or something, you might want to try an established firm (Your man in India, brickworks, etc).

However, I never recommend just 'handing off' a bunch of projects. It takes a lot of work to get outsourcing set up. I still spend a lot of time doing "work", but instead of doing my own articles or backlinking, now it's managing tasks and people, but the outcome is better because I'm leveraging my dollar and other peoples time.

Freelance sites are pretty popular nowadays. There are companies/teams in oDesk or Elance that offer VA work. If you'd want to do that, you might want to specifically note on the job posting that you are actually looking for a team of workers. However if you're particular with your team, you might want to just hire a person for each task you need and have someone handle the team for you or someone you can have tasks delegated to the team.

    Thanks buddy.

I also like to check out who are strongly recommended in this regard. Not only for programmers, and designers. But other things as well. At some point, you have to delegate.

Well, I've been outsourcing for years and years now and I have always used Best Jobs Philippines :: Philippine job search, job bank, employment and recruitment to find great Filipino freelancers or pool of freelancers which also led me to create a system wherein I could let my subscribers search through directly to this website even if they're outside the Philippines or they're not registered since Bestjobs has restricted access to other countries recently. So far, I've had good feedback from my students in Mass Outsource Mastermind too.

I hope you could utilize this job search website as well.

I have used Odesk for quite some time very successfully, with the exception of not finding a good outsource for backlinking. I have also heard some good things about Rentacoder but have never tried them myself.

Since outsourcing since 2003, here are some things I've learned.

Don't use outsourcing companies, go after individuals. They are easier to manage and you have direct access to them. Individuals are more loyal to you.

Odesk.com - great site; I got all my assistants off there
Onlinejobs.ph - great site where Filipino college students are; about $200-250 per month for a full timer. Not too bad.
Scriptlance.com - Find programmers, graphic people. You can ultimately give these guys full time jobs.

The key is to do a couple projects with a person first before offering them a full time position. I only hire Filipinos when it comes to virtual assistant, content creation, etc, because I don't have to micromanage them and they are loyal; however in other areas like programming, graphic, design, etc; I don't mind hiring elsewhere.

        Hi,

I might have missed it, but it seems that you haven't specified WHY you are looking for help ;-) IMHO there is a difference between outsourcing and freelancing, which was used mixed up in the replies. No offense here BTW.

        1) Make yourself clear WHAT you want. A project (small one could be done with freelancing) or get more time (talk about VA and outsourcing)
        2) Make sure you know your stuff...
You couldn't outsource anything that you have no glue about. That won't work in most cases.
        3) How many hours.
        Want full-time help or part-time.

I am going with Steves opinion when it comes to outsourcing companies, but have to say that it depends. If you are mostly doing your own things, you might go with individual VAs. But if you are running a business with real customers for whom you are providing your services, you might think about some more reliable solution. If an outsourcer hired via an outsourcing company vanishes, they replace him. Also they do the training.

There are pitfalls involved, so better make your homework BEFORE hiring somebody ;-)

        Best and to your success
        Sven

PS: I might be wrong, but Bestjobs.ph should be open again. No need anymore for another paid service to get access... If it is closed send me a PM and I'll give you a way cheaper solution ;-)

        Hi Prmart,

if you are referring to staff from the Philippines you would be wrong. They are actually pretty cheap! A typically salary over there is around US$80-100, if we would refer to some stuff in a supermarket. Also there seems to be some federal law, that says that you have a job and social security when you are employed for more than 6 months. For that reason lots of stores hire only for 5-6 months and then get new staff. That makes it even more interesting for them to work for a foreigner. They can expect a salary from US$2-300 upwards, have the reputation to work for a foreign company and can even work from home... If you compare lets say $400 full-time with a typical salary in the UK it will be nothing. I can remember my former colleague, while working in London, saying that €100.000 would be enough for a small apartment, public transport and costs of living. This makes the difference ;-)

@OP: Have had contact with a company from Singapore last week, which has a development branch in Vietnam. Wasn't the cheapest around, but I will give them a try sooner or later. You might check out Marx company from the Philippines. Should be on the "for hire" section. He has loads of staff and replies pretty fast!

        Best
        Sven

PS: Is 1979 your year of birth? If so I would be KOS1979, haha. Was born in February '79 ;-)
